So today, was my first time inside The Grove Deli. My Mom frequents this establishment, often. Whenever, we are having lunch together at her house, this is usually where she stops. However, today, I did the running.
Here's my first physical experience with The Grove Deli. So my Mom, told me exactly where it was located. She stated, they had two doors to enter. So I arrive at approximately 4pm, go to the first door and it's locked but I can see employees inside and the sign says, it's open till 5pm. I thought, well maybe they were having some issues with the door or something. There was no sign posted about closing early so I went to the next door and found it unlocked. So I enter, go up to the counter to place my order. At the counter, there was a young lady that appeared to be cleaning & a man behind the counter. This is when it all goes REAL WRONG. I think, I'm getting ready to order but the man looks at me an asks, "what, a locked door doesn't mean anything to you"? I say, "excuse me, what"? He says, "we're closed. A locked door doesn't mean anything to you? I said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize". Then he says, "we ran out of food. Sorry". The young lady also says, sorry. Now I don't know if she was also apologizing for the lack of food or for him. However, the apology from him, should of come, for being completely rude. Not for being out of food. Next, there should of been a closing early sign on the door. Finally, the second door should of been locked too.
Needless to say, I called my Mother & had this say. I will NEVER be, hungry enough to eat food from The Grove Deli. Please do not ever, pick food up, for me, from there. It will be a waste of your money. I will throw it in the trash.
Now, I ain't gonna lie. Whenever, my mom would call me, and ask, where I wanted food from, The Grove Deli was usually a top pick. It is not now, nor, will it be, again, for 5 years. I'm not a person who likes to eat out a lot so when I find a place that's clean, has good food and service, it's a treat for me because most places do not offer all of these things. I liked The Grove Deli for all these reasons, so I thought. I obviously needed to go inside for myself. Clean, yes. Good food, yes. Customer Service & respect, NO! They just lost a customer. The only thing, that should of came out of his mouth was, "I'm sorry. We're closed". Instead of disrespecting me over his own error.
This same review will be available on as many websites as I can possibly get it on.
