Sherine Smith is a nationally certified Physician Assistant (PA- C, MPAS) with an emphasis in Ophthalmology. She completed her undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, majoring in Zoology/ Human Biology. After working in Ophthalmology as a technician, she went on to complete a Masterâ€™s Program in Physician Assistant studies from the University of Utah. She graduated at the top of her class and received the Humanitarian Service Award for her contributions to the community. Some of her humanitarian efforts include trips to Bolivia and Mexico to provide health care and improve living conditions. She spent 7 years practicing in Family Medicine in at a National Health Service clinic in Provo, UT. before finding her way back into Ophthalmology here at the St. George Eye Center. Her experience in family practice allows for a unique approach to how systemic illnesses can affect the eyes. She is also fluent in Spanish.
