Palm Terrace Apartments

This apartment complex is an OK one. I have been here for 2 years, and I am finally moving out. When I first arrived at this complex I really enjoyed it. It was my first apartment, so of course everything was great! Then issues started to come up. At first we had roaches, and I was able to resolve it by using roach traps. Once those went away, things were going great. I had a few problems with the neighbors (one was arguing all the time, and slamming doors; one had issues with plants that would end up near my door, which I didn't appreciate; one neighbor would park in the handicap spot, when she wasn't even handicap, and her daughter would park there too). Other than that it was good.

Starting this year, everything changed, management became worse, and so did the people that she rented too. The arguing couple moved out, and a son/father moved in. From there things started happening, one neighbor got her apartment broken into, and strange people that DID NOT belong on the property (according to management) was there. I told management about it, but she didn't do anything (her attitude is that they are paying the rent, so who cares). I once had a shady woman (who belonged to the people downstairs) in my corridor; who didn't belong up there; walking around, and being very sneaky. I went down and told management, and she gave me the biggest attitude (with eyes rolling) saying that she is going to evict the people below me and that was ALL she can do. I asked her to get that woman away from my door and out of the corridor since she didn't belong up there (or on the property) and she told the women that I was "pissed off" that she was there and that she needs to leave. Putting my life and property in danger. What she could have done was to tell that women that she doesn't belong on the property and she needs to leave.

Another incident was when a two bedroom opened up, and I asked if I can have the apartment; she told me that it was rented out. A few days later she told that she didn't want to give me the apartment because I have dogs, and it was new carpet. Instead of telling me that I can move in there and pay a pet deposit and/or pet rent.

After that, I found a new apartment that was downstairs and for only $25 more then what I am paying now. One of the processes is that they (the other apartment) need to verify that I am living there, and it had been about a week, and she had not sent that information. I went down to her to ask her if she has received the fax from the new apartment, and she, once again, rolled her eyes at me, and told me that she hasn't done it, and that she was "sick" and she would get to it in a couple of days (she had it for a week, really?)

So, if you like management giving you attitude, over charging for their rent (I found out that 1bd 1bth goes for $600 NOT $700; like I am being charged) then live here. I will say that the reason for the 3 stars is that it is quiet, not a lot of children, and plenty of parking. Otherwise look elsewhere. She is a SLUM LORD, and she doesn't do anything about the tenants when told about.

I like this apartment the neighbors are really nice everyone is pretty chill. Mary the manager is pretty cool as long as you're not being a jerk she can work with you and with maintenance they come pretty quickly to fix whatever needs to be fixed. It's mostly quiet lots of parking for friends to come visit or family.
