Tampa South RV Resort

I had a great time... it was quiet, which is what I needed.. we stayed next to the water.. saw dolphins twice while there and even a manatee. The management did not know we were coming and they made special arrangements to help us out.. we stayed in one of the permanent homes in the resort.. so it was like having a little of home but not. Thank you, for such a great secluded area. Needed the rest.

What a hidden gem! We picked this place despite the mixed reviews on the web as we were visiting the Florida Railway Museum.



Made reservations well in advance and they knew we were rolling it with a travel trailer. Saw a mix of full timers, snowbirds and travel trailers. Lots of fresh paint on the buildings, someone has put a lot of work into the facility.



Friendly staff, clean grounds and real friendly campers. The park is small and everyone seemed to know each other. Lots of activities and a great breakfast on Saturday AM. Make sure you go across 41 to Morgan's and get the best Strawberry Shortcake or milkshake that you have ever had. When we rolled in, everyone told us we had to go there.



This is a place you would probably pass by on 41 and not give it a second look as you head off to your standard place. But I will say that you are missing out.



We are FL locals, not snowbirds and are already mapping out our next trip back.

I totally agree! This is a park that decriminates...I am a member of Passport America and even though there was nothing in Tampa South description. I was told that they did not allow RV's over 10 years old in the park..and when I left the office, I immediately saw one at least 10 yrs old parked directly behind the office. There was no way that the mgr could not have known that it was visible. I drove through the park and saw 2 more. I feel that Tampa South is not only taking advantage of Passport American's good will, but also free advertising that they do not live up to. They pick and choose!! Disgusting practice..totally dishonest.

Many Canadians speaking French who would not even say Hello or Hi to other campers. Unusual to be in a campground where nobody speaks to anyone. May be different in the summer months. Also had permanent campers that looks in much disarray. Staff was friendly though. We were there in Jan/Feb 08. We did not feel it was worth the expensive fee's. Will not return.
