This office provides adequate dental services. However, if you don't want an unexpected bill, monitor your insurance dollars because the office staff is not efficient in this area. This practice has no issue with billing patients for overages even when they don't inform you prior to services.

Great dentist office! I have NEVER had any problems at all with any of the staff being rude, not returning calls, or writing me for unnecessary procedures! They have always explained every cost to me and how it's all broken down by insurance and what I would have to pay. GREAT AND FRIENDLY STAFF!!

Overall

This dentist office has been nothing but headaches from the beginning. They have billed me incorrectly time after time after time. They failed to return phone calls. They put you on hold for obscene amounts of time. Some of the people in the office are just plain rude! They have lost my chart several times- once they found it after it fell behind the desk for about a year. They have performed procedures on me that are not covered by my insurance- TWICE, even though I requested that they inform me if they are wanting to do something that would be outside of my insurance coverage. They have billed me for procedures, and when I call they have no idea what the bill is for. They have performed x-rays which I'm told by my new dentist are unnecessary. When I called to complain about these x-rays which were not covered by my insurance (once they were finally able to tell me what the bill was for...) they responded by telling me they were going to send my bill to a collections agency. Dr. Silber is nothing but friendly and I believe to be a very capable dentist, but I definitely think he needs to consider getting a new staff. I would never recommend this office unless you wish to put up with his very rude and very disorganized staff. The best decision I ever made was switching to a new dentist.

This has been one of the worst...

This has been one of the worst dentists I have gone to.

I just moved to Royal Oak recently and since I have a busy schedule I could not continue to go to my regular dentist in Taylor, which I have gone to since I was a kid. I decided to try this one since it was the closest to me.

Upon my first visit I was told I have a teeth grinding problem and a hole in one of my cavities (that apparently was not there 7 months prior when I attended my previous dentist). They tried to convince me I needed an expensive mouth guard and to fix this hole. I knew I did not have a teeth grinding problem because I never have headaches when I wake up, or practically ever. I skipped out on that but worried about the hole so I gave in for the procedure.

I also made sure I was informed on what my insurance was to cover and what the difference I was going to pay for everything (now 6 months later they are billing me for charges I was never aware of).

After the procedure the left side of my jaw was in a considerable amount of pain (and I still have problems with sensitivity now, which I never did before). I decided to complain to my roommate one day because I was miserable. My roommate informed me he also decided to switch to that dentist also because of its proximity to where we live, and went there a couple days prior. He told me that they told him the SAME EXACT THING: that he had a teeth grinding problem and needed to patch up a hole in a cavity, ironically on the same side of mouth and same tooth as mine, but he asserted to them he wanted to decline the extra processes.

Needless to say, this place is there to take your money in anyway it can and does not care about its patients. I even got charged for my return visit for them to RE-FIX my tooth because I was still in considerable amount of pain. I have never been so upset about a business, or services I've received, that I felt it necessary to go onto a website like this to write a review.

Great Alternative to the "Corporate Dentist Office" of today's standards !

This is a great dentist office.

I have been looking for a LONG time for a dentist office that is actually concerned about their patients welfare, not just how they are goin to get paid....

Dr. Silber and his staff are excellent.

After a recent run of really bad experiences with the traditional "corporate" dental offices that most people are forced to go to if you have a HMO (DHMO) plan...

It was a great relief to to find this office. They actually...

1. listen to you,

2. Explain ALL COSTS up front (seriously, NO surprises!)

3. actually return phone calls

4. do everything they can to have flexable scheduling for patients that actually work full time jobs.

I was tired of being a slave to those corporate franchise offices, (i think everyone knows what i am refering to...) that prey on taking lower rates from insurance comapnies and try to make it up on "quantity" rather than "quality" of care.

Ironically, I decided that since i was looking for a "back to basics" approach on patient care for dental service, my decision to search the same way resulted in me dusting off the yellow pages that have been more of a "doorstop" since they were delivered earlier this year, and do an old fasioned "back to basics" search...rather than logging onto Google, or Yahoo.

End result speaks for itself....
