Gainesville Location

When we had all that flooding in Atlanta, our septic tank started backing up into our house. My bf and I just bought this house so we're thinking this can't really be happening. So we called around to get quotes to have our septic tank drained and the prices ran anywhere from $200 to $800 just to have it drained. Well we got the quote from Mr. Rooter in Gainesville of about $150. We didn't know where the septic tank was so the gentlemen looked all over our side yard and our back yard he couldn't find so we got the layout of our land from the county and he came out the next day and took care of everything. Turns out when the people installed the septic tank when they were building the house they didn't do it right sooo Mr. Rooter fixed it all for me for $400 I think that is very reasonable considering the situation and they had to come back twice...they were on time both days and very helpful! Thank you Mr. Rooter.

Why quote a price...

If you are planning to leave out the details? The service man arrived on time and was very courteous, especially when he informed me that he would be charging an extra $25 per tube needed to reach the tank. Then there was the charge for extra digging ($125), not to mention if he found the ground to be harder than expected- and additional $250 to use the bobcat.... so my initial price of $275 went to about $500 after a quick survey. The company decided they would not accept what I said I could afford on such short notice ($350) - so I found another company that matched the initial price, with no other charges. So, Mr. Rooter lost well over $100 in gas because the service man drove over 1 1/2 hours to get here, not to mention all future business from me and my aquaintances.

Buyer Beware

We had a problem with our washer drain backing up so we called Mr. Rooter. The serviceman came out and after checking told us we would need to replace our drain pipe which would be costly because the actual cast iron drain pipe had tiny leaks and even if he was able to clear the clog the pipe would still leak. The cost for this advice was higher than expected.

We got a second opinion and the drain was unclogged and we were advised that there were no tiny leaks in the cast iron pipe.

I have been washing clothes since Wednesday and there is no water leaking anywhere from the pipe.

I am not sure what the reason for the "replace the drain pipe" idea but it was way off base and had I not gotten a 2nd opinion would have paid for something I did not need.
