After the surgery, I was in excruciating pain. The aesthetician did not give me the proper dosing so that I was waking up as they finished suturing me and moving me from the operating table to the gurney. During post surgical observation, my pain was so intense, it took the nurse 3 doses of Dilaudid to get it under control. During this time, I was aware that Dr. Sompalli briefly visited me but made sure to stay just out of sight (or so he thought) and say that "She needs to stay overnight because I don't know why she is in so much pain."



Hours after my surgery while I was recovering in my hospital room, Dr. Sompalli finally came to visit. He removed the butterfly stitches that were helping aid the sutures from opening. He then removed a few sutures causing the wound to open up a bit and heal with a huge scar later on. He then "reassured" me that I should be experiencing SOME pain. Hah, you think?



During my home recovery, Dr. Sompalli never called to follow up nor did his staff call to make a follow up appointment. Who does this? Also, he never properly filled out my pain prescription for home use and I was left without pain medication for 8 hours!



Finally, there was so much gas left in my abdomen after surgery (used to inflate the area during laparoscopic surgery) that the pain stretched from my shoulder to my hips for days on end.



I would NEVER recommend Dr. Sompalli to anyone. Please, STAY AWAY from him. He is a terrible surgeon and has a disgraceful bedside manner.



I will say that the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital were phenomenal. I was very impressed with them.
