Performance Tire & Automotive Center

Today, I was so rudely treated by Performance Tire & Auto in Rocky Mount @ 1323 S Church St, and it makes no sense. I think that the manager/owner is one of the nastiest and rudest people that I have ever encountered. I asked him to do a job for me because someone had stripped one of the lug nuts on my car, and he actually laughed and said that he wasn't interested in the job because I didn’t come to him 1st. I mean, he didn’t even come outside to take a look at it. He said that I have let them people, "backyard mechanics" mess up my car and then expect him to fix it. No, I actually just wanted to pay him to get A (1) stripped lug nut off my car. Then the manager said that the next time I needed some brakes done, come see him first and I had news for him..... Like HELL I will and NEITHER SHOULD ANYONE ELSE. I told him that today was my last time EVER stepping foot in that place of business!

I was very surprised by my first visit to Performance Tire in Rocky Mount, NC. I have never been treated more rudely in my life. The owner used every word in the profanity list towards me, and I doubt it would have made a difference if he'd known he was talking to a pastor.



Here's my story. I went there to purchase 4 tires for my customized 70s model pickup truck. Because of customization, there are certain procedures required to shut down my truck engine. After their employee hopped in my truck and drove it into the shop, I stepped one foot into the garage to inform them about these procedures. No sooner had I taken one step forward, then the owner began yelling and using profanity at me to get out of his garage. I explained that I needed to tell his employee how to turn off my truck. He continued to use profanity, told me they were professional and could figure it out (even though their behavior led me to believe otherwise), and that I should have told him these details while I was still in the office. Since I wasn't allowed to approach my truck or tell his employee how to properly start and shut down the vehicle, I requested that they back it out and give it back to me. After grinding the gears, his employee sped out with the truck and left it running. I had to catch it in neutral because they didn't use the emergency break, and hop in my truck to safely drive away. Using profanity, he said for me and my truck to please get off the property.



And, regarding price...

He was 50-100% higher than market value. I was going to pay the price anyway because I believe in shopping locally and supporting the little guy. Boy, did I make a mistake that day. Instead, I left there not making a purchase, and I never will.
