Macular Degeneration
Macular Degeneration – There are two forms of macular degeneration, both of which are result in the deterioration of the macula in the back of the eye. Wet macular degeneration results in blood or other fluid leaking into the back of the eye. Dry macular degeneration is less severe, but in most cases, eventually evolves into the wet type.
Laser Eye Surgery
YES! If you donâ€™t want the hassle of glasses or contact lenses during the day, adults can wear Ortho-K lenses, too. They are a great alternative to LASIK surgery and will eliminate any problems you may experience with your contact lenses drying out. Since the lenses gently reshape the contours of your corneas as you sleep, so that when you wake and remove the lenses, you can see with optimal clarity. This allows you to go about your daily business with perfect confidence â€” and without glasses or contacts. The correction can easily last a few days, and you can keep it going indefinitely simply by wearing your Ortho-K lenses to bed as needed. If you stop wearing the Ortho-K lenses, your corneas will return to their natural shape and your vision will become blurry again.
Cataracts
Most people who are diagnosed with cataracts live completely normal lives for a long time, never even noticing any difference in their eyes. In fact, you may be surprised at the diagnosis of cataracts because your eyesight hasn’t changed at all. Cataracts are a slow, progressive disease that affects people at different rates. Having the condition doesn’t mean you need treatment immediately, but it does mean you should be monitored and watch for the day when it becomes time to get something done.
Cataract Surgery
Some over the counter medications claim to prevent cataracts from deteriorating, but there is no proven medication that can do this. Avoiding prolonged exposure to bright sunlight can help, and magnifying lenses can extend the time you can go without cataract treatment, but the only real treatment is cataract surgery.
Eye Exam
Are your eyes irritated and you feel like something is in them? Or do you have the urge to rub them and they are red and burning? If so, then it is time for you to schedule a comprehensive eye exam with your eye doctor. During this eye exam your eye doctor will examine your eyes to see if you are experiencing Dry Eye.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Another thing that can happen when children have vision issues is that when they start doing poorly in school, many other doctors may mistake this behavior as ADHD or other attention deficit syndromes. However, if they cannot see, this is not a case of ADHD. Instead, it is a case of not being able to see and stopping the effort to do so. More often than not, a misdiagnosis occurs for ADHD when the actual issue is vision related. If you continuously get this checked out, you can easily rule it out as a factor.
