Groovy Cuts 4 Kids

Took my 18 month old here for his first haircut. Absolutely amazing experience! Super sweet ladies, especially Lori! I was so stressed out about getting it down, but they were excellent!

We have been going to this Groovy Cuts for years and both children got their first haircuts here. Today we went in to fix a crooked haircut on my two year old and to get my 5 year old daughter's first big girl haircut! When we went in we explained that we had been in a couple weeks back and that the stylist had cut the back pretty crooked and we needed to get it fixed. Knowing I had waited so long I fully expected to pay for both cuts. I never asked for it to be discounted or comped. The stylist was great and fixed his hair quickly and it looked great. Then she gave my daughter a great haircut. The cutest bob ever! But when we went to pay it turned into a circus. They told me my total and it was obviously just the one haircut. I was pleasantly surprised that they chose to fix my sons hair for free even though I had waited. But then the receptionist proceeded to tell me that I had told them that we came in just the day before and we must have gone somewhere else for the bad haircut because it had been a few weeks since we had been there. I just said. Well I am sorry you are right it was a few weeks ago, either you misunderstood me or I misspoke but it was here that we got the haircut and it was a few weeks ago. Then it just got more and more juvenile from there. They just could not stop telling me that we had said the day before. They just kept telling me we must not have gotten the cut there and all but said that we had lied about the day we had come in over and over and over. The manager came over and it got worse. Over and over she just hammered at the fact that I had told them the wrong day and that she heard me say the wrong day. All of this is going on (very loudly) in front of all the other customers and MY CHILDREN and my husband. Finally, I just said I never expected a free haircut. I can pay for both haircuts. I was simply trying to let you know that the stylist had cut it crooked. We just wanted it straightened out. By the time I left I was angry, embarrassed and frustrated. It was such a minor thing and turned into such a big issue. I will never go back to Groovy Cuts again. The manager was just very rude and curt and handled the entire situation very poorly. I have never been accused of lying at a business I was giving my business and money to before.

Brought my 3 kiddos in this past weekend and absolutely LOVED the new look!! I've been bringing my 3 kids since 2009. The staff has changed over a couple of times but even my hairstylist herself said they can be a bit on the flakey side! Love the all the recent changes and and the staff was great.

They have wacked my daughters hair beyond repair several different times! I kept taking my daughter back because it's a "fun" place to get your hair cut, hoping we would get someone experienced to cut her hair. No such luck! I have left there unsatisfied or in tears almost every time. I'm done - never going back!

Cool place and good haircuts.

This place is really great! I started taking my 2 girls there for haircuts after I had my daughter's 8th birthday party there last summer. What a great place - much better than at other party places we'd been too in the past. We had a great time. The girl up at the front counter is great too. Great customer service all the way around.

I first discovered Sharkey's when I passed by to go to the grocery store. I have two boys and a girl and my kids absolutely LOVE this place. Sometimes it can be a bit crowded so if I'm in a hurry or have a busy day, I try and always make an appointment, otherwise I really don't mind the wait. It's quite an interesting sort of place. There's old fashioned arcade games along with flat screen t.v.s and all the gaming equipment a boy could want. My daughter really loves the place because she gets her finger nails painted when she gets her hair cut...what a great bribe...at least in the beginning. Now she asks me to get her hair cut. Great concept...and gland they're around!

I took my Three Daughters in to Sharkey's and got their hair cut. my youngest and middle child had their hair cut by the same person, but my oldest had hers cut by another lady. My oldest daughters hair turned out shorter on one side than the other!! We didnt notice it ( i had her wash her hair later that night) because of the way that it was styled... I took pictures of her hair and went ahead and had my daughter go to school with her hair all lopsided telling her that i would have it taken care of later that day. I called Sharkey's as soon as they opened and had to leave the owner a message because the person that was there could not authorize a refund. Understandable. I went ahead and had my daughters hair fixed that afernoon around 6 (plenty of time for me to get a response) making the price of her hair cut $25 at Sharkey's plus $20 at another place. I called again the next day and finally by 1:00pm i spoke with her. Now she is sayin that since i already fixed her hair and she didnt physically see it she cant refund my money.

I am having a hard time understanding this because I tried to get in touch with her and i have pictures of the previous cut!! I couldnt make my 11 yr. old daughter go to school for a second day like that...

I took my 9 and 4 year old girls to Sharkey's for a manicure and the girls loved it. The stylist was friendly and interacted well with the girls.
