It's hard to imagine finding a lively spirited blind dog, and yet that's Belle; a very young, dwarf, Labrador Retriever, with a heart of gold, the energy to play fetch for hours, and the stamina to hike for miles. She lost her eyes to glaucoma a few months ago but not her zest for life.



I have witnessed Belle develop a strong bond with Brenda; from barking and jumping in excitement as she senses Brenda coming to pick her up, to following her directions and progressively responding to her attentive training with a clicker, to developing enough trust in Brenda to go running on leash with her. Just a couple months ago she would go a few steps and then do a hard stop, but now, she's a full on athlete, running with her for long distances.
