Halifax Medical Specialists

They are terrible about returning calls and you can never speak to a person. If you need to make an appointment have a RX refilled or anything you can't get in touch with them and forget getting an appointment even if you are an established patient.

The doctors at Halifax Medical Specialist are all very caring doctors. I would recommend any of them to anyone. I have a doctor there and am very satisfied with how well I am treated and how he treats my medical issues. As for the secretary that seemed to be allowed to make medical decisions, that's not true. Sometimes people take it upon themselves to make decisions and the clinic shouldn't be blamed for that. I am sorry for the bad experience the person had during the snow with Ms. Pittard but that is not the norm with the clinic.

This office contains several doctors and their policy is IF you want to switch doctors you cannot. They will toss you out of their office. I'd say that's being a bit uncooperative and paranoid.

I was referred to this clinic because I needed a local heart doctor. I had been seen in the emergency room in the area 3 times in a 2 week period with heart pain, extremely fast heart rate ( over 110bpm while resting) and also for a very low resting heart rate of between 40-50 bpm. On the Day of my appointment the closed the clinicn because of "snow" homwever i had to make a 22 miles round trip to get my brother to a radiation appointment that very same day. Afterwards I went to the local clinic, my regular doctor was not available that day and suggested to go to the cardiologist the ver next day.

After waiting in line for 15 minutes to talk with one Jean Pittard. She informed me that the soonest time to see Dr. Balla was going to be march 26th. I explained that I had 2 different ER Drs. and a GP that i needed to see one within 3 days due to the repeated ER visits. The secretary, ms. pittard said that the snow was not her fault and did I want to appt on the 26th or not? She was extremely rude and to me seemed to have changed 3 Doctors orders in making such a late appointment instead of attempting to to work me in that very day. Needless to say I was taken to the Emergencey Room and later bt ambulance to a large hospitol that is now planned to place a Internal Cardiac defribilator/pacemaker.



I told that secretart she could cancel all appointment with any doctor I had at that quack place and left. I would suggest that anyone not have any dealing with Dr's that leave secretaries unreprimanded when dealing with heart patients in this wat.
