Dental Examination
Detection of dental disease is one of the key roles your dentist plays in your oral health care. We want to catch any dental problem early and remedy it as quickly as possible. As a result, we recommend dental exams and x-rays. On your first visit, we’ll establish a baseline for your existing oral health, and from there design a treatment or preventive plan to ensure your dental health throughout your lifetime.
X-rays
We recommend taking X-rays around the age of two or three. Annual x-rays may be performed when the baby teeth in back are touching one another, and are especially important after permanent teeth start coming in around age six.

Teeth Cleaning
Performing preventive dental care as advised by your dentist will aid in minimizing your chances of acquiring an oral disease such as gingivitis or periodontitis. We advise patients to brush and floss at least twice a day for preventive home care, and to visit us twice a year for teeth cleaning and oral health checkups.
Fluoride Treatment
As the children get older, they should be seeing a dentist every six months and getting fluoride treatments twice a year, along with any necessary cleanings. In general, children do not use fluoride toothpaste until after the age of two. Talk to Dr. Sonny Kim about this and other specific home care according to your child’s unique health care needs.
Dental Sealants
Let’s face it. Kids are prone to cavities. They don’t always eat the healthiest foods, and they often need to be reminded of proper brushing and flossing habits. One way to help prevent cavities is to have your dental professional apply dental sealants.

Fillings
Veneers
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic polymer that are attached to the frontal teeth to change the color or shape of your teeth. They perfect your look in the safest way.
Crowns
After your titanium fixture is implanted and sufficiently healed, the next step is to cap the fixture with an abutment, a thimble-shaped piece that anchors the restoration (crown) in place. Depending on how your osseointegration is progressing, the abutment may be left to heal or the restoration may be placed on top in the same procedure.
Bridges
Dental bridges are an ideal quick-fix solution for those who want to fill in a missing tooth right away. However, they are not placed in the jawbone and require that the neighboring teeth be filed down in order to fit the bridge into place. This causes permanent damage to the neighboring teeth.

Root Canal Treatment
I went to Dr. Kim last week to have a root canal. My current dentist only did cleaning and recommended that I go to a specialist to get a root canal. This was an inconvenience since I had to search for a specialist and take time off work for another appointment. The professional office staff scheduled me within a week and also got me started on the antibiotics – which helped me with my tooth pain and infections. I also liked the fact that Dr. Kim performed all facets of dentistry – from routine cleaning to root canal – one stop shop. I was nervous about the pain but I must say that after Dr, Kim explained to me the procedure, I felt I could trust his skills and judgement. I trusted him to the point that I actually fell asleep during the procedure (totally embarrassing). Except for the novocaine, I did not feel pain during and after the root canal. Even after the day of the procedure, I felt normal (gone was the throbbing pain I had felt for about a month). I also liked the high tech office equipments, professionalism of the office staff and their personal touch of the phone call the next day to make sure I was fine. I would highly recommend Dr, Kim to all patients looking to get any dental work. No more need to go to multiple specialists – that saves me valuable time!!

Dentures

This was my first time receiving dental work from this practice and I highly recommend Dr. Kim and his staff, as they are unmatched in their professional approach and friendly demeanor. I chose to get my wisdom teeth out with Dr. Kim after getting X-rays and having a brief consultation to ensure everyone was in agreement on the plan. I have never had oral surgery before, and was expecting to be in excruciating pain after the pain medication wore off, as I had witnessed with countless friends and my own siblings. However, to my surprise, I had very little swelling and the pain was easily managed with otc medicine during the first few days after the procedure. Dr. Kim utilizes the latest technology and innovative methods to ensure a quicker and more pain-free healing, which he informed me of beforehand. Throughout the entire process, Dr. Kim and his kind staff’s greatest concern is the patient, demonstrated through transparent communication and great attention devoted to your personal comfort. I was even given a blanket so I wouldn’t be cold while the procedure was taking place. I will definitely be returning for future treatments and will be recommending this practice to my friends and family in the area.
