Firestone Complete Auto Care

I took the time to call around and find the cheapest Serpentine belts and this Firestone refused to install them, and told me that they could only install their belts that cost four (4) times as much!! AND, to top it off, FIRSTLY, they told me that they could not install my belts because their work was guaranteed, and SECONDLY, they told me that you couldn't go to a nice restaurant and get a nice steak for grocery store prices. Get your story straight.....the costs for parts and the costs for labor is itemized on every bill from every mechanic I have ever been to. How many folks have been to a restaurant and received an itemized bill for food costs in addition to cooking costs?? That analogy makes no sense. If you want me to buy your inflated products because it adds to your bottom line, be honest about it and don't tell me "explanations" based on faulty analogies and logic. Too expensive!! And manipulative.....if they refuse to use my parts they should have told me over the phone. I drove around until I found Jim & Alan's Auto at 111 W Washington Belton, MO, 64012 who installed my cheaper belts for cheaper than Firestone would have installed its expensive ones. A waste of money funneling into a corporation. AVOID!!!!!

FIRESTONE CROSSED THE LINE OF GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICES & ETHICS & PUSHED FORWARD WITH UNSCRUPULOUS ACTS. IT HAS BEEN COMING UP ON A WEEK & STILL WE WAIT FOR THE AREA MANAGER TO PHONE. The vehicle was taken there for major tranny shifting issues & tires. They sold every OTHER service under the sun at a cost of $2,500 & when the car was picked up just stated "it had some tranny codes" like no big deal & yet they are A HUGE DEAL! The tranny fluid was burnt up & nothing said. Tranny is in active failure. They stated as part of this they checked the battery out as good. It failed & left the vehicle stranded inside 24 hours. Before 48 hours it broke down again due to wiring harness damage while dropping the gas tank. This harness regulates the fuel pump, ABS braking and tail lights, Would this not be a HUGE SAFETY ISSUE? $600 spent after trying to save the trans. and fix the wiring. Looking at $2.5-3.5k trans. rebuild. Vehicles KBB value running good $1,600, Salvage value as is $250.
