The tech that performed the oil change was Ray. He came out to show me I also needed an air filter - I also talked to him about my tire service monitor light being on and he took time to explain to me what it could be. Not sure if Ray is new, but I must say he has excellent customer service skills and takes the time to spend with the customer without any pressure involved. He is very knowledgeable and seems to really enjoy talking to customers. Please pass my thanks on to Ray for a job well done

My 1991 Honda needed a muffler only.A buddy and I got under the car and looked to see where the exhaust leak was before taking it in for repair. We were very sure the pipe from the catalytic converter to the muffler itself had no leaks.

There are two Mikes one is shorter and one is taller .The taller Mike is the manager. He called me to tell me that I needed not only the muffler but also the pipe leading to the catalytic converter.i questioned him about the pipe being bad but he insisted it needed to be replaced.I reluctantly agreed to it being replaced along with the muffler in the interest of time and getting the car back.He quoted me $212 for the muffler and $175 for the pipe.I agreed and got the work done.If I would have shopped around I would have found that Pep Boys had a muffler that cost $56.99 and the pipe was about the same price.I also checked out Autozone just to see what they would charge and the price was about the same. Then I went online to see what the highest price I could find nation wide for a muffler and pipe for the 1991 Honda and the highest I could find it would be $102 for the basic muffler and about $91 for the pipe.

Feeling a little conned I went back to confront tall Mike and he got all angry saying the Honda dealer would charge $400 for the muffler alone. He said Autozone and Pep Boys mufflers were junk and that his $212 muffler was much better.i should have checked my prices before hand.Lesson learned.

BEWARE

If you used Fix-A-Flat to temporarily fix a punctured tire and you happen to bring that tire to be patched at this particular store, beware when someone says to you that the chemicals in the Fix-A-Flat has ruined the insides of your tire and that you now need a new one. As soon as you hear that, RUN AWAY. Take your business elsewhere.

The rubber compound on your vehicle's tires is formulated and designed to survive the harshest road environments, as any tire manufacturer will proudly attest. If the tire is not worn and you were able to drive on it with the Fix-A-Flat, unless the puncture occurred on the sidewall, it means the store's personnel are being lazy about cleaning the residue and would rather scam you into buying a new tire.

Fix-A-Flat leaves a residue that needs to be removed prior to repairing the tire. The residue in its liquid state can be wiped off with rags and washed away with soap and water, but when dry will require mineral spirits to clean up. As you may have already concluded, it is the economics of performing the repair versus the speed and simplicity of replacing the tire that sways this tire shop's ethical compass.

"It's a trust thing," the STS motto says. How laughable.

Money Gouging, Racist, Badly Run Shop

This store is run by Mike who is there only to gouge money. Will keep you confused, does things without consent & when asked to itemize cost, turned nasty, with racial slur & bad language. Also became vindictive & damaged the rim rashly pulling back weights with hammer/chisel causing additional damage. I have filed a lawsuit against this person with heavy damages. Beware of this store. It is only unfortunate that a reputable STS store is run by such people.
