I have a 2 and 4 year old that always have a great time at Monkey Joe's.

I recently attended a birthday party at Monkey Joes. I want to warn other parents so they don't have the same experience as I did. I normally keep my child's shoes with me to avoid them from being stolen. However, since this was a birthday party I thought it would be OK to leave them as instructed on the "birthday cart".
Even though the birthday room was empty, the cart was left by the entrance/exit. You can probably guess what happen - my child's shoes were stolen.
I was more upset by the way the situation was handled than the shoes being taken. The manager never thought it was important enough to speak with me directly. The fact that there is video recording of the area where the shoes were was never mentioned except by one of the workers that overheard my conversation. The supervisor trying to help said you couldn't see who took the shoes. I guess the video is not very detailed and therefore what purpose does it serve.
Instead of just reimbursing me $40 they thought calling the other birthday party attendees was better. Do you really think the other birthday attendees enjoyed being questioned about taking a pair of shoes?
They did give me 4 passes which is the same value of the stolen shoes. However why would I go back there given how the situation was handled. The passes were only given to me after I said I would write a bad review.
Customer compliants are inevitable but it is how they are resolved that are the true judge of how well a company is managed.
So beware or your child will be leaving the establishment barefooted as mine did.
