I read the reviews and I believe I can add some insight. Been going here for 2 years. The men that run the place are down to earth, hard working, and have been doing it for years apparently. They are all in sports outside of the store and know what their talking about. It's a family run business and the owner has been doing it for over 40 years I think he said. When you talk to them, it's the type of service you would expect at a small-town, family-owned coffee shop. All the regular customers come in and immediately go behind the counter and chat. There are no steadfast rules when it comes to purchasing items. If you can't afford something or wanna try it out, they will accommodate you. Since the owner has been doing it so long and his health isn't particularly good, he comes off sometimes like your grumpy grandpa that you visit on Christmas. But after having gone there for the last 2 years and chatting with the owner when it was quiet in the store, I can say that just like that grumpy grandpa you visit on the holidays, he also really cares about you and will slip you a $100 in your pocket on your way out the door as he tells you that you're a good kid and to keep up the work in school. That's my opinion after getting to know the people and working with them over the last couple years. For some, that's not the type of customer service they are accustomed to receiving at Lowe's, for instance, but, then again, Lowe's doesn't have their owner behind the counter when you walk in the store.

I usually dont write reviews but after reading the ones here on yelp, I felt I had to bc are we talking about the SAME place. I run a local little league and these guys outfit us from head to toe. Have had great customer service for the past 5 yrs. They work very hard to get my customised uniforms ready before the season starts. Even when I mess up and need to add a player to a team or a sponsor to a jersey at the last minute they always accommodate me. The owner bends over backwards for you and is a wicked nice guy. They have been around for decades, thy are a staple in Quincy, MA.....great people

I was a little cautious after reading reviews but I guess it's true that most HAPPY customers don't bother writing reviews hense the lack of 5 stars. I've shopped both online and in the store and had no problem with products or service. The owner Bob is great as far as price. It's not like a big box store, he is willing to give you a great price on some items. I saved $10 on a pair of cleats coupled with gloves and $50 on a baseball bat during baseball season. They've been in business for over 40 years so they must be doing something right.

Never written a scathing review online in my life, but I felt compelled with Beacon. These guys act so unprofessional, angry, and miserable, I feel sorry for them. But, that's no excuse for how they behave. After emailing Beacon (which online promises a return email in one hour) and getting no response, I called a few days later, got their owner Bob Beniers on the phone and asked a very simple question: 'I'm looking for a quote for a set of jerseys for my team.' Instead of responding with 'Sure, how can I help you?' he responds with a condescending laugh and lectures me about how dumb a request that was since there are so many types of jerseys, etc. I responded that I in fact emailed him the EXACT jersey mock-up/design with all those specifics, but given his tone I'd be taking my $4,000 request elsewhere. He responded 'Good' and hung up.
Along with the reviews below, there are many other people who have similar experiences, and this was not my first. I've always attributed their embarrassing behavior to having a bad day, but it's obvious they are just not nice people who don't deserve the respect or business of customers. Life's too short to be that miserable or for that matter to shop at a store where your money goes to people who are not thankful for your business. Go someplace else. Thanks for letting me vent all three of you YP visitors who view this! Made me feel a lot better.

I would caution anyone from ordering anything from this company. I ordered a pair of cleats that I needed quickly. I paid $16 for 2-3 shipping. I purchased the cleats on a Monday. They were supposedly shipped on the following Wednesday. Clearly if I wanted 2-3 shipping I didn't count on it taking 2 days to actually ship the item. The item arrived a week later. The company would not answer their phone and would not respond to e-mails. I had to file a Paypal dispute in order to get them to even respond and all they would say is I paid for UPS ground shipping and that is what they did. This company is not customer responsive and I will never buy from them again.
