Boulder Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery

I personally wish to assess a rather “VERY POOR” rating to the Boulder OMS Group in Poway.



I had a tooth removed on November 22, 2011. The first issue is that they are expensive and you should shop around. Unfortunately, it was just before Thanksgiving and my normal dentist was leaving town so I was referred to the Boulder Group. They were the only office that could get me in for the procedure that day, so I scheduled the appointment with them. That was my first mistake.



My 2nd issue, and the most important, is they prescribed Antibiotic (Z-pak) that I was advised to take for an infection. I didn’t have an infection and had never taken this drug before. So to make a very long and painful story short, I had an allergic reaction to the drug and was rushed into emergency surgery and had to be in ICU. Now after I was released from the hospital, I read the Z-pak disclosures and it states that this is equal to 30 doses of antibiotics. Now I was prescribed this drug when I did not have any infection but followed the advice of the dentist, Albert Lin.



I contacted the Boulder OMS office and wanted to discuss and pass this information onto Dr. Lin so he may reconsider the use of the drug for others in the future. Unfortunately, I spoke with Jessica, the office manager, who refused to let me speak with the dentist. Never once during our conversation, did she ever once say that ‘she was sorry to hear about my episode”. Her stance and attitude was just so over the top in dealing with customer relations. I wasn’t calling to chew the dentist out but to share the info and she basically told me, that’s how we do it and you aren’t talking to Dr. Lin.



So if you are looking for an office for a rude customer service, go there! If you are looking for a better price and better patient relations, go someplace else! If you do choose to use utilize their services, be cautious and question the suggested drugs that they prescribe. Taking that extra precautionary action could save you a tremendous amount of physical discomfort and money.
