Established in 1909, the Portales Fire Department is a part of the city of Portales, N.M. The department provides a range of fire and emergency medical services. It offers paramedic response and related services. The Portales Fire Department also provides public education and prevention services. The department protects the community with a fleet of pumper rescue, tanker, brush truck, ladder tower and pumpers. The Portales Fire Department has offered ambulance services since 1974 for the citizens of Portales and Roosevelt counties in New Mexico.
