General Info: Dr. Mears completed her retina and vitreous medical and surgical training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. She joined Dr. Walker, Dr. Raskauskas, Dr. Ghuman, and Dr. Sharma at Retina Consultants of Southwest Florida in 2016. She has been an investigator in several pivotal clinical trials that have led to FDA approval of new therapies to fight retina or vitreous diseases. She has contributed her time and expertise to further medical and ophthalmic education by serving as a lecturer to her peers on subjects such as retinal surgery techniques, retinal diagnostics, hereditary retinal diseases, and many other retinal disorders. She also collaborated and authored publications of textbooks and peer-reviewed journals.
