Hello Kupcake

I asked for help from Hello Kupcake 3 weeks before my wedding, when my original wedding cake lady backed out on me. I was told by Whitney,the owner that making a small square 3 layered carrot cake was "absolutely not a problem" since my design and request was so simple, eventhough she was not a professionally trained baker. I gave her ample opportunity to decline if she felt she could not handle the job? My, (then), fiance and I met with her in person, thoroughly discussed what I wanted for my special day and agreed to the specifics. We left her shop with a few samples, carrot cake, red velvet and pumpkin spice, all of them were nothing to rave about, they were below average at best. We agreed to give her the job since she claimed that carrot cake and red velvet were her "specialties" and she seemed willing to put in extra effort since the request was so simple and it was for such a special occassion. The agreement was for Carrot Cake with walnuts,(I even made a strong point to ask for extra nuts), SQUARE, 3 tiered. I provided her with a drawing of what I wanted the cake to look like, the decorations and paid her... very well.

I was amazed when the cake was presented at the wedding dinner. It was tilted, it was lobsided and here's the kicker...it was ROUND! My brother commented that his girlfriend, with her broken wrist in a cast could have done a better job. The appearance of this cake was embarrassing. After the initial shock, I could have excused the leaning poorly designed "round" cake until I tasted it. This was THE WORST tasting carrot cake I have ever had! It was incredibly dry, it didn't have any nuts in it and it was worse than week old store bought. My husband and I threw away the top layer instead of saving it for our 1 yr anniversary, it was that bad!

We were married on Nov 12, I've waited until today, Dec 2 to write this review, hoping I would get a call from the owner apologizing for the rotton job she did and offering her explanation as to why the cake was round and not square, like I had ordered? I just wanted a call to see if I even liked the taste? NOTHING! To date I have not heard a thing, not a call, a card, nothing! I am not big on leaving negative feedback for businesses, especially those that really want to do a good job. However, this business deserves less than 1 star, it deserves NO stars not even for effort, because there was none. I strongly suggest you go elsewhere for baked goods. It's the absolute worst! I expect to see a dry cleaner in her location next time I'm on 41.

This has to be the worst place to get cupcakes! They have no flavor what so ever and the frosting tasted like week old frosting from a wedding cake. Very over priced for the quiality..i think the owner should go back to baking school! I wouldnt have given even 1 star but the site made me!!!
