Lake Vista Resort

This place is a resort. Very nice Clean and tidy. Second time here Would recommend .

Great place to stay! We were here in July, 2004. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms. the room was nice, if a little cramped and small. The staff was so wonderful and friendly -- from the minute we checked in until the second we checked out. My husband proposed while we were on this trip and staying at the Lake Vista. Afterwards, we were in the store getting some drinks and i, of course, was telling anyone who asked how we were doin' that we just got engaged. the guy behind the counter was so sweet. congratulated us and gave us our cappuccino's "on the house".

This was a really nice place. it is right on the water and they have a really nice pool. The grounds are decorated beautifully with a fountain in the middle and there was a really nice, large deck.

overall -- great place to stay!

We love the location and accommodations. Some of the best days of my children's childhoods were spent here. The whole family rented cabins/rooms for a week each summer for 11 years. Breakfast on the dock, swimming all day, walks into town for ice cream, barbecues at sunset. We did nothing and everything and had the best time.

This place is awesome! Clean and convenient.
The view is great and is walking distance from all the shops and places in dtwn Port Austin.

Great access to plenty of beach entrances too! I just wish I had a kayak or a small boat!!!

Lake Vista Motel & Cottages in Port Austin, MI was one of the nicest, most laid back holidays my husband and I have ever taken. The property and grounds are extremely well kept and lush. Our cottage was as neat as a pin and charming. Fellow vacationers were very nice and friendly. Lake Huron was as always beautiful. The pool and the WIFI were an added bonus.

My wife and I decided to take a drive up the coast of the thumb and stop at the first place that looked nice. We were driving up the coast of Lake Huron and really didn't see anything worth stopping at until we reached Port Austin. We liked the looks of the Lake Vista Resort and decided to give it a try. Couldn't have been happier.
The room was large and clean. The furniture and fixtures were in excellent shape and the view was great. We really appreciated the fact that it was close enough to the water to hear the waves if you left the window open. It felt like we were at the ocean.
We liked it enough that we went back again two weeks later and reserved the room at the end on the second floor. It had windows on three sides overlooking the lake. Couldn't have asked for a better room.
The staff were very friendly and helpful when asking for recommendations on local establishments. This resort is one we will definitely be back to several more times
