Beaches Cafe & Bakery

I would like to provide some information about the recent experience my friends and I had at beaches. This was on Sunday and my first visit to Port A. We went in with a party of 11, 6 adults and 5 children. When we came in and told the host how many we had, he said they only have 1 table to accommodate that many people and a party had just sat down but he could set us at separate tables. When I looked around the restaurant, I noticed they were not very busy and had other tables that could simply be put together and I mentioned we would wait for a couple of those. He then told me that they aren't "allowed" to put tables together like that, I asked why and he said that is just the bosses rule, I asked if she was there, which he proceeded to say yes and offered to get her. I advised him we would just wait for the other tables to open and we could sit next to each other. They sat our party in 2 separate booths so we could not even talk with each other. Once our waitress came we advised we wanted our checks separate, she advised she could only separate twice, which was only 1 separation within our table. You chose to seat us separately, so we should be treated separately. She finally agreed. We ordered chips and queso, which I had to remind the waitress for twice.



Additionally, there are signs posted all over the place that read "if you can't be nice, you can't be here." We all thought those were quite amusing because of the irritation we were caused on our vacation. Seems "the boss" has some pretty strict rules in place.



We felt like we were in the twilight zone in this place and will not be returning.



Also, Not at any time did "the boss" come and ask about our experience.

The food took forever to come out, I asked for rolls for the table then found a charge of $3 on the bill for them when the waiter never mentioned there was one. We spoke to the manager who was totally unprofessional and instead of trying to fix the situation he proceeded to make small talk, where are we from, how long are we there for etc. We also waited about 20 minutes to get our bill. We will not be back, the food wasn't good enough to endure such bad service
