Plymouth OB/GYN physicians are certified in obstetrics and gynecology, the medical specialty providing health care to women with particular emphasis on the organs of the reproductive system. Plymouth OB/GYN at Speare Memorial Hospital understands your unique needs as a woman. Our care extends from adolescence and the reproductive years through the perimenopausal and postmenopausal years.
Obstetrics
In 1985, the hospital underwent a major renovation adding 10,000 square feet and new equipment at a cost of $2.1 million. In addition to improvements to nearly every department, the hospital added an intensive care unit to help individuals recovering from critical illness. 1989 brought the addition of a new operating suite and space for storage and receiving were added. The Emergency Department and outpatient areas were renovated and expanded in 1996, through substantial support from the Rooke Family. The medical-surgical and obstetrics units were renovated in 1998.

The Radiology Department at Speare Memorial Hospital performs a variety of diagnostic and wellness procedures. The department is committed to providing the best service to our patients, using current technologies. Located in the east wing of the hospital, the department provides general radiology exams, digital fluoroscopy, CAT scans (Certified by the American College of Radiology), ultrasounds, MRI, and nuclear medicine. The women’s imaging center provides ultrasound, mammography and bone density services, and offers a private waiting area for women.
MRI
Friday and every other Wednesday 8:00 am -4:00 pm. An MRI screening form must be filled out and the MRI tech/radiologist will review prior to the scan. Please wear loose clothing with no metal. You will be asked to remove all metal from your body prior to entering the scan area.
Radiology
The Center is staffed with the same highly skilled radiologic technologists you will find in the radiology department at Speare Memorial Hospital.
X-Rays
Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear Medicine: Every Thursday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Nuclear Medicine scans will require an injection of an isotope. The nuclear medicine staff will provide instructions regarding the test and scan times.
Mammography
Mammography: Monday- Friday 7:30 am -4:00 pm. The department offers late appointments until 5:30 pm on various dates during the month, please ask during scheduling if you need a late appointment. Please remove deodorant and powder prior to your appointment. The technologist will fill out a screening form with you prior to your test.
Computed Tomography
CAT Scan: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm. (Some scans may require oral preparation and fasting). You will be asked to fill out a contrast information sheet with the technologist prior to the scan. For abdomen/pelvic CT scans you will need to pick up a premixed barium solutions and will receive specific instructions for preparing for the scan. CAT Scan examinations may also require contrast that is administered through an IV line, so prior to the scan a nurse may start an IV for injection of contrast.
Chemotherapy
A: We are able to provide most chemotherapy treatments in our outpatient clinic. Patients are seen in our clinic by our oncologist (cancer doctor), who is from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC). Patients are encouraged to have a local primary care physician.

Patients with wounds that don’t heal after 30 days often need the services provided by the Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center at Speare Memorial Hospital. Nearly 96% of wounds are healed at our center and we have a 98% patient satisfaction rate. These high scores have resulted in our center being recognized as a national center of distinction.
Joint Replacement
In conjunction with Speare's Surgical Services and the patient care management departments, Choice PT at Speare offers pre-operative training for patients prior to joint replacement surgery. Physical therapy staff instruct individuals on what to expect after their surgery, teach the use of a walker and/or crutches and some basic exercises that will be used post-operatively. The session also includes considerations for preparing the individuals home environment and equipment that may be needed at discharge.

Christine Kannler, MD, of Northeast Dermatology Associates in Manchester, sees patients on the third Thursday of each month in the visiting physician’s office located on the second floor at Speare’s Boulder Point physician office building in Plymouth.
Lesions
Dr. Marietta grew up in Michigan, attended the United World College for high school in New Mexico, then returned to Michigan where he was awarded the prestigious Medallion Scholarship and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Western Michigan University. He worked as an ethics associate at Alegent Health in Omaha, Nebraska prior to entering medical school at the University of Rochester, where he received a Doctor of Medicine degree with Distinction in Research and completed his residency training. He has lived in New Hampshire where he has served the Lakes Region/Plymouth area for the past 10 years.

Our physical therapy professionals provide evaluation and treatment for patients with a variety of conditions and at varying stages of their lives. Working with the patient, our physical therapists provide high-quality services to treat disease, injury, and disability.
Occupational Therapy
Outpatient occupational therapy includes the evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal and neurological impairments utilizing therapeutic exercise, advanced soft tissue techniques, custom splint fabrication, heat and cold, modalities and function-based home exercise programs and education. Occupational therapists are specially trained in restorative and preventive care.
Manual Therapy
Speare's Choice PT outpatient physical therapy includes the evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal and neurological impairments. Therapists utilize therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, heat and cold, modalities and comprehensive home exercise programs and education to assist the patient in reaching their maximal potential.
