Dental Examination
The best way to prevent gum disease is with effective brushing and flossing on a daily basis, as well as regular professional examinations and cleanings. On occasion, however, even with the most diligent home dental care, people can still develop some form of periodontal disease. Once this disease starts, professional intervention is necessary to prevent its progress.

Teeth Cleaning
Once your teeth reach the desired brightness with either application, only occasional reapplication of the whitening agent is needed to maintain your new smile. With any whitening procedure it is recommended that you have a dental cleaning beforehand to remove any existing dental plaque or tartar that can affect your results. Any existing dental needs should also be treated before undergoing your teeth whitening treatment.
Fluoride Treatment
On a more personal side ( see his professional credentials below ), Dr. Naler loves his community and he enjoys volunteering. You’ll find him and his team at local schools helping young people understand the importance of taking care of their teeth and providing dental screenings and fluoride treatments for students. They also participate in the Platte County Health Department’s annual Health Fair. Dr. Naler is also a member on the board of the Platte City Chamber of Commerce.

Fillings
In our office, resin, or white fillings are used to fill damaged teeth due to tooth decay. White fillings are a more versatile and esthetic restoration than are silver fillings. There are also fewer health and environmental concerns with resin than with amalgam fillings.
Veneers

Bridges

Root Canal Treatment
Infection of the nerve of the tooth can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep decay, cracks, or even the trauma of repeated dental procedures. Symptoms of the need for a root canal can be identified as a visible swelling around the tooth, sensitivity to temperature, or pain in the tooth and surrounding gums.

Deep Cleaning
Proper periodontal therapy involves disinfecting the diseased tissues around the tooth and inside the gum pocket. This treatment, or “deep cleaning”, interrupts the bacterial destruction of the tissues and bone, giving the pocket a chance to heal. Systematic, repeated visits, usually every three months initially, keep the pocket disease-free and sometimes allow tissues to reattach to the tooth at a near-normal depth.

A denture, or a complete denture as it is often called, is an appliance that is inserted in the mouth. It replaces natural teeth, and provides support for the cheeks and lips. Dentures are made of acrylic and can be fabricated two different ways.
