Dental Examination
Dental exams are an essential factor to your child’s oral health. From his or her first visit, we will be monitoring the teeth closely to ensure we’re taking every step possible toward the ideal result. During your child’s dental exam, a hygienist will clean the teeth and check for any potential cavities or gum disease. The exam will also include x-rays (radiographs) or any other necessary diagnostic procedures.

Teeth Cleaning
Keep your child on the right path to great oral health with regular cleanings from Busciglio Smiles. Our experienced pediatric dentists will asses the health of the gums and teeth, evaluate for oral disease, and perform a cleaning that will leave your child feeling great about his or her smile. To make your first pediatric dental visit more convenient, please print, fill out and bring a copy of our patient form to your first appointment.
Fluoride Treatment
Dental Sealants
Early intervention is an important part of maintaining great oral health. As such, some of the treatment options we offer act as interceptive tactics, allowing us to nip common problems in the bud before they arrive. Protective dental sealants are an excellent example of this strategy.
Space Maintainers
Depending on the results of your child’s exam we may need to introduce dental space maintainers, which help to prepare the patient’s bite for what’s to come. The space maintainers are aptly named, as they essentially “hold space” for the permanent teeth. They are often used when a child loses a baby tooth early, before the permanent tooth begins to erupt. This helps ensure that the permanent teeth erupt into the correct spot for the perfect bite.

If possible, locate the tooth. Handling it by the crown rather than the root, rinse it with water but do not use soap. If the tooth is intact and contains no fractures, have the child reinsert it into the socket while holding it in place with gauze or a clean cloth. If reinserting the tooth is not an option, place the tooth in the mouth next to the cheek or place it in a cup containing milk. Do not use water. Then, contact our office immediately, as saving the tooth is time-sensitive.
