Windhaven Academy

My daughter has been at this facility for 7 months. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. My daughter loves her teachers and they are very attentive. I researched a lot of day cares centers before picking this one and I couldn't be more pleased.

I have a 6 month old that went to this school for 3 short days. Within those 3 days she developed a diaper rash (she's never had before), she got RSV, and had a terrible rash all on her cheeks and mouth from not being washed off after feedings. Day two the director called me at 11 am (the last time my child ate was at 6am) and told me they couldn't find my daughters formula can (and she couldn't tell me if they had given her any other food), so i left work went and bought a new can and took it to the day care. When i arrived i walked in and the assistant manager saw me coming and shut the first door that i had to walk through to get to the back rooms, so i had to do my code and hand print. To me that was very sketchy. It made me think she ran to my daughters room to tell them i was there. So as i walk to the baby room one of the teachers is in the middle of picking my baby up so i walk to her and grab my baby only to find hard food all on her face. WHICH EXPLAINS WHY SHE WAS BROKEN OUT FOR THREE DAYS! This place has gotten a lot of good reviews, that's why it was my first pick! But day three i went on the state website and looked at their ratings and they are all BAD! Teachers have been reported for pinching children. Another teacher spanking kids. A lot of teacher didn't have background checks at all done! I could not believe the things i was ready! So Day 3 I went and picked her up and my baby never went back! The room is nasty! They put one kid that has snot all over himself in a jumper then take him our and WITHOUT cleaning it put another kid in the jumper! (which explains my babies RSV) When i first met the teachers that were going to be taking care of my baby they had no personality just seemed like they were there to get a paycheck. We currently are at a much MUCH better daycare called Kindercare!! The teachers in the daycare spoils these babies rotten and treat them like they are their own! It makes me sick to my stomach i ever left my baby at windhaven academy. I never write reviews but when it comes to my children i feel if i can say just a couple people from sending them kids somewhere i will.
