Overall

I'm so used to going to TJ fish Market for some soul food if I'm not making it, but I tried this place and was hesitant at first just because it looked like a hole in the wall, but I'm sure glad I did. The food was banging! I had fried chicken, which is made to order baked mac and cheese and string beans which had potatoes in it! I didn't need salt or pepper because it was seasoned so well! You really should support this business if you are a Plainfield local or visiting the queen city!

I give the restaurant 1 star because the food was okay. It wasn't great. But most of all the service sucked. First, no one was at the counter as you enter; they were having a conversation in the back and the girl said someone is out there three times before anyone came out. Then a young woman strolled out, did not say hello. I said hello and placed my order. I noticed several people came after me and got their order and left. So I went to the girl and asked how long before my order would be ready. She said 15-20 minutes. I said, I cannot wait that long, I have an appointment. Her response was, what are we suppose to do with the chicken? I replied, I don't know, give it to someone else. I didn't know the chicken wasn't ready; had I known that, I would not have ordered it. So the girl goes back inside and tells I guess the cook that I did not want the chicken; so he comes out, with attitude asking me the same thing about what is he going to do with chicken. I told him the same thing I told the young lady. I said I would be back 15-20 minutes; he then said, for me to pay for the chicken and come back for it. I said I wasn't comfortable doing that, that I would come back. So I went to check on my appointment and was given the okay to wait for my dinner. It took longer than he said to cook some 3.5 little wings. Finally my order was ready and I noticed the little sign in small print that said food is cooked at time ordered. I told the young lady that your sign is too small; she said we have two. I said I see them now, but they are too small, you need to make them bigger. I paid for my order, said thank you and left. It will be a long day in hell before I patronize their establishment again. Customer Service Is Everything! Learn it. The place is clean and the mac n' cheese was delicious, but learn how to treat your customers. That is why our businesses don't succeed. Because we don't know how to treat the customers. The chinese people always tell you how long it takes to make an order. That's all I am saying. Customer Service people!
