Been to Gateway Radiology, many times, and I have always had a good experience. Been treated in a very professional manner, by all the staff. I've always felt comfortable, and felt like I was in a safe, clean environment, The staff has always been friendly, courteous, and very helpful. I am now waiting on a return appt. and feel confident it will be handled in the same professional way, I have always experienced.

I had scheduled 2 MRI’s on sept 6th. I arrived 10 minutes late ( 20 minutes ahead of the MEI start time—-I signed in and was standing by the sign in station wondering what to do next when the receptionist / upfront gal literally yelled at me “if you’ve signed in, take a seat and sit down!!” It was extremely embarrassing in front of a room full of people and totally unnecessary. I am a customer and there never should never be a reason for a customer to be talked to in that way.
I’ll never go to Gateway again and will tell everyone I know about my experience. Gateway should train their employees that Gateway is not doing the customer a favor by accepting our business, we are the ones doing Gateway a favor by choosing them for service.

This place overbooked so you wait and weight. If you call them or go to the office to get an appointment or return their call, expect wait for over 30min and you risk getting hung up on or told come back, call you Dr. or we will call you. It's obvious their philosophy is the patient's time does matter. Pack email in and make them wait with the minimum staff possible. You don't have to go to them Go somewhere else that doesn't treat you worse than cattle.

Also, they overcharged me $50 for two copays. Even though I showed the Medicare reimbursement, Mary the billing clerk argued this and finally agreed verbally to me to reimburse my cc for one of them. It never happened.

One other warning. They do not pre verify your insurance reimbursement. My Dr. sent me for my annual mammogram a week early and my insurance would not pay. I found this out three years later when the charge appeared as a default on my credit report. Even though I paid them when I found out what had happened, they never took it off my credit report.

Similar scam type experience. They've created a false charge of $50 from 2010, brought it up before an emergency scan in 2013 in a room full of people and threaten to not do my scan.

At the time it felt like an intentional attempt to extort $ from me, but that was paranoid to think then. Looking back, however....

Was first time had known of charge, always paid my copays.

Now had appts tomorrow and next day and today they started my day this morning with conflicting instructions for the scan, conflicting times, and they exhumed this $50 again and said no scan without it being paid.

This was brought up AFTER the time I can cancel without penalty, I might add.

That alone is wrong, they waited to throw that card down after I couldn't cancel?? Nothing showed up before, really??

Told them when I made this appt, spoke to someone specifically about that incident in 2013, how I did not want to go back to that place and was told these matters would not be an issue.

Now, day before, all my appts are cancelled and am seeing just how deep Gateway Radiology's fraudulent practices extend.

Lady in their billing office named Mary, refused to give me her last name, refused, all the while berating me for a charge I thought was cleared years ago.

It was aggressive, coercive and unprofessional in a way even I don't expect from this area, and if you knew me, I don't expect much....

Avoid Gateway Radiology and their fraudulent practices and scams. Has been too long for this to be accidental, they know its bad and choose to make a living off it.

They are what is wrong with health care today, not in it for the patient, we are to be monetized.

Their initial contact now is a text, telling people to download their app for an appt.

I instead typed in the addy and found the app creator and it specifically shows how the app can 'monetize the patient experience'.

Many people here don't know better.

How is THAT not wrong?

Is shady as heck and I hope to see ti come to and end....

After being told that with our current insurance would be covered a 100% for radiographs a few weeks later we received a bill in the mail. I called the insurance company to see what was going on with the bill. Come to find out they have a contract with my insurance company as a private imaging center and they are billing me as private office even though they have a contract with my insurance company stating different. A women named Mary told my representative of my insurance that she understood that what they were doing was incorrect but would keep doing anyways. Gateway radiology is billing people who probably shouldn't be getting billed. Horrible place!!! Go elsewhere !!! To many other places to choose from these days that will be honest.
