Burholme Park Golf Center

WHAT HAPPENED HERE? What great family entertainment this used to be. Now it's just a shell of what it once was! While the City of Philadelphia was entertaining the idea of leasing a third of Burholme Park to Fox Chase Cancer Center, the golf center rapidly deterioated with no major repairs in fifteen years. As they negotiate a new lease, I hope Parks & Recreation takes a good look around! The driving range has sixty-three stalls, lower and upper decks, some heated (13) and covered. Not sure how many heaters still heat but the upper deck has been closed for years. The irrigation system no longer works and al six light standards need some lamp replacement. The pond at the miniature golf course no longer has a recirculating system that operates, so enjoy the green algae! When we visit the batting cages, we find there are nine pitching machines in there but only two that pitch anything. And if you visit the clubhouse, be sure to take an umbrella! Let's save the Burholme Park Golf Center!
