HIGHWAY ROBBERY!

My husband and I placed three rings on layaway worth $5,200.00,we wasn't able to pay them off within the time permitted, had to use a store credit...I'm so disappointed in the choices I had to choose from, and what I walked out of there with.... for $2,165.00 my husband and I left out with bands WORTH ONLY $500!! My husband's band was the original one he placed on layaway ($1,600.00) mine was a piece of dust! We found this out after getting BOTH rings appraised at several of the stores in the area.... My husband's ring was worth the $500...mine....NOTHING! I feel cheated! So cheated! Every store spoke negatively of Barsky! even telling us that the owner did FIVE YEARS IN PRISON FOR TAX EVASION! I own a business...how could I have been so stupid to not have done my homework! I tell you this...when my business picks back up...and I go ring shopping again...I won't be going down to Barskys! I hated my ring soooo much we SOLD THEM BOTH for $500 total! basically...I gave mine away! I'd rather start all over with another company! I would have felt better if the sales rep (Matthew) would have been more sympathetic to our situation....but I feel he just made the dollars work....for all that I could have kept the money on the original rings and continued to make payments! selling me a piece of dust was DISRESPECTFUL! It bought tears to my husbands eyes to see me so unhappy...not being able to do anything....

LESSON LEARNED........

I have dealt with both Jeffrey and Nathan, on three different occasions.

The first time I traded in an engagement ring when I got engaged again.

I explained the price range and what I wanted and Nathan got me a "D"

blue white stone for a fraction of what someone else would have charged. I traded in my old gold to make my fiance a beautiful initial ring. Nathan worked with me on the mold, until it was what I wanted.

When I turned 60 I treated myself to a diamond tennis bracelet.

Jeffrey was kind enough to change the round stones at my request to a whiter stone and made sure to give me the original price for the white gold as this was a pre designed bracelet that I choose to buy as I liked the design.

The service is great and I would highly recomment Barsky. I think they are honest, and trustworthy, and have the most selection of diamonds and prices to suit anyone's budget on Jeweler's Row.

My future husband bought our engagement ring and wedding bands here. When I came in be4cause a diamond fell out, they rushed me to the back so other buyers couldn't hear me. They put another diamond in. But then as they were talking to me one of their big deal huge ring customers came in and they people forgot I was there. We just opened the boxes to our wedding rings today to make sure they will be good for our december wedding and already my husbands band looks tarnished even though he never wore it! It supposed to be platinum. I'm not sure how we will handle this. I think just getting othr rings from another store for our weeding day and a lawyer will help.

My husband got my engagement ring from here. I was happy with it for 8 years. Then I decided to get it upgraded with a custom setting. It took 4 months to get! It has been a nightmare getting any updates, feel like I get the run around every time I call. If you want to propose with a custom ring, and you insist on getting it from Barsky, go right after your 2nd date. That way, when you want to propose, you might have a better chance of having the ring done by then. Very disappointed and will never use them again.

Not long ago my husband went to Barsky's for a tenth wedding anniversary present. Nate, as usual, provided superb customer service, helping my husband pick out the most beautiful 10 carat tennis bracelet! Given the amount of money such an item costs, my husband did due diligence and compared what Barsky's was offering to that of other retailers - and confirmed what we already knew from past experience in dealing with this jeweler - that is, that NOBODY undersells Barsky's or does a better job at ensuring we are thrilled with our purchase! We have always enjoyed working with their staff and will continue to do so for a long time to come, I am sure.
