Iveys has been my repair shop for many years. They always stick to their price and have always fixed my car in ONE TRIP! They saved me over $400 on an air compressor replacement and install. They are a very good shop. Maybe not perfect, but cars are not perfect to start with. Glad I dont have a VW diesel. John

They overcharged me more than $200! They replaced my rear bearings for $871 and Firestone would have done it for$619! The thought just makes me sick, to think of things I could have used that money on like daycare, bills, food, tuition. I will never go back there and will make sure they know how upset I am being price gouged like that. Don't trust them!

I won't take my vehicles anywhere else! I have been taking my vehicles there for years, and I have never had them do any service on anything without calling with an estimate first. My mother was taking her car to a local competitor, and they were telling her she needed all sorts of things done on her car. She would call me worried about these things, and was upset all the time. I had her start taking it to Ivey's and they take good care of her without telling her she needs things she doesn't need. I have sent both my children there, and they have never had problems either. I am not sure why someone said they are expensive, either. You can shop comparisons before you ever have anything done, and it will be the same or more expensive everywhere else. I am a woman who has been taken advantage of by other service centers, but have never been taken advantage of by Ivey's!

Now,,,I have no idea what happened to these other people,,but my family has been dealing with the Ivey family for a good 50 years. My father,Earl Daw,who recently passed away,WORKED for Mr .Ivey,,the original owner. This was when the business was downtown Pensacola. When they moved to 9 Miles Rd.,,daddy kept bringing his cars to Mr.Ivey.Now,,his grandson,Doug runs things. He did add a few things,,and hired a few new guys.Maybe that's where the problem is.They should speak to Doug about their concerns. As I said,my whole family has been dealing with them for over 50 years,,that goes from calling him because I can't start my car. Wayne would send someone out,,,and tow it in,,unless he could find the small enough problem and fix it 1,2,3. Yes,,sometimes he does take days to get your car done,,but that just shows how much people trust them with their cars,,,they have a TON of cars there at any given time. And,,yes there are issues with leaving the cars out in the open all night.I personally have never had anything happen to any of our cars,or trucks. The bill,,,I suppose you may find a place cheaper,,but that's business. Every place has different prices.I just know,,,Doug, his father,,and his father have been very good to my whole big family. I,too have owed him money,,and have worked with him to pay it off. Trust between the families. When we have bought cars or trucks in our family,,we always take it to Iveys for a once over. And,,as Lauren K. said,,I would NEVER take my car to ANYONE else EVER. As for that guy with the language,,,I would have called in Doug,,confronted the man,,and I'm sure he would have been fired on the spot. Doug will NOT condon anything like that, let alone have it happen to a costumer. So,,,,thats my two cents. You can use your own judgement,,but as for me,,and my ever growing family,,,we will stick with Iveys. They haven't been in business for over 50 years for nothing. Give them a try,,tell them Earls daughter sent you.

Ivey's has been taking care of me and my family for years. I've personally been taking my vehicles (all used vehicles in need of extra TLC) to Ivey's, and they have kept me and my little babies mobile in Pensacola since 2004. They've even worked with me during hard financial times, and still let me have use of my vehicle for work. We've built a great relationship. Mr. Ivey has since retired, but his son Doug keeps the tradition going. I live downtown Pensacola, but I still make the trek to 9 Mile Road. I wouldn't take my vehicle anywhere else.

I recently bought a car at a used car dealership that recommended Bobe's on Gulf Beach Highway to get it checked out. I wanted to take it to Ivey's, but it was a long drive, so I went with Bobe's. My car had a small oil leak, completely visible by me, and the man at Bobe's said he didn't see anything wrong with it, that it was just fine. Two weeks later I noticed some problems, smoking, etc. I took it to Ivey's just barely making it in time before serious problems with the radiator/engine would have occurred. It was COVERED in caked on oil. They fixed the problem and cleaned the engine.

I won't take it anywhere else again. Those guys are like family. And they really care about what's going on with my car and my life, and do whatever it is I need to keep a single mom like me on the road.

They are busy ALL YEAR LONG. And there is a reason for it. They do good quality work and don't try to rip people off. I do have to leave my car in the morning for them to look at it that day, and they always call the same afternoon to tell me what they've found. It is a thriving business, and has been open in Pensacola, thriving, for 44 years for a reason.

First let me start it like this my parents car messed up so they took it to thug iveys... They took the car apart "before the estimate" without approval which is not only bad buisness but illegal. So i ask why they took it apart before approval and he hesitates then replys with you have to take it completely apart before you figure out the problem. And replys there is a fee for labor. My response is you did not get permission for taking the car apart... So i contact my parents due to there very unpleasent news. The guy at the front desk then starts cursing. I point out that i am the costumer and he is the employee... he then states that i am a smarta** and i need to get the f*** out of the office and seems like he was bowing up with outrage... Not only did he do many of illegal stunts he also incovinenced me and my family to the maximum. Nobody ever needs to go here you will regret it. Worst experiance i have ever had to deal with through automotive incounters. The people there are inexperianced and are highly unprofessional and DO NOT follow the laws. So to keep yourselves from reget and terrible service DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT COME HERE FOR YOUR SERVICES. If there were negitive star it would be a ---5*

Brought my car to Ivey's a couple of years ago, when my engine was misfiring. The owner told me they would look at it the next day. I waited till late in the afternoon, the next day, to call and see what they had found. They hadn't even touched it yet, but he promised he would look at it before the end of the day. This situation repeated itself, four days in a row, before he finally told me it was the distributor, the distributor cap, and the spark plugs that needed replacement. I told him to go ahead and do it. One week and over $623 later, I finally had my car again. It is worth mentioning, however, they did put a nasty door ding (from a white vehicle) on my right rear quarter panel, free of charge. After 11 years of avoiding door dings, my luck finally ran out, thanks to Ivey's crammed and disorganized lot.

So, back to the "repair." It seemed to run ok for a week or so, but not appreciably better. Then it completely died in the Lowe's parking lot, on 9 Mile and Fowler. I had it towed back to Ivey's (at my expense), since the repair was still legally "under warranty." The next day, I was told that the newly installed distribotor was found to be defective, and that they had replaced it, free of charge. Two weeks later, the engine began misfiring again, just as before.

This time, I dropped it off at the dealership. Before the end of the next day, the problem was both diagnosed and repaired. Imagine that!

And what did the dealership find? :::drum roll::: Not only had the #6 spark plug gone bad, but it turns out that Ivey's didn't even bother to change them. They did charge me for parts and labor, however. I guess they were betting I would never catch on, or they just didn't give a damn either way.

Getting work done at the dealership was painfully expensive, but they did it right the first time, and I haven't had any ignition problems since.

I would've filed charges against Ivey's for fraud, but (like most people who work for a living) I don't have the time, and I suppose that's what makes us easy prey for fraudulent mechanics. Instead, the best I can do is warn others about my experience, so they don't get ripped off, as well.

Buyer beware...

Horrible service and very expensive. I have a car that is having engine problems. After taking it one place (Henson Auto), they told me they were unable do the repairs on it.....they charged me $26 with tax for the computer scan and looking it over. I then proceeded to call around to find someone who could repair it. I stopped after talking to Tommy at Ivey's.....I talked to him for quite awhile. I told him what the computer printed out and he told me they could repair it and the best day to bring it in was on Monday because if they needed to order a part for it, I could still get it in the same week. That was on a Thursday. On Monday, I took it in. Tommy did not remember talking to me and said it didn't make any difference because they would do a computer scan anyway. He then called me that afternoon to ask again what the car was doing. On Tuesday afternoon, he called me to tell me to pick up the car. He said they also were not able to repair it. When I went to pick up my car, then then charged me $93 with tax for doing the same computer scan I already had. Won't ever do business with Ivey's again and certainly won't refer him.

No way hosea'

They took their time with my vehicles, but was not satisfied with the work they did for the price they charged. Also I didn't like the area in which my vehicles were parked when the job was done, in a unsupervised, open parking lot where anything could happen to the vehicle while sitting on the open lot.No cameras, no fence, no safety precautions.
