Duncan's Septic & Backhoe Service

Great work and fair price.

I had a septic system replaced by Duncan's about 5 years ago. They did the job as quoted. Price was reasonable for an aerobic system and they didn't try to gouge. One rarely admires a septic system (and ideally it just works in the background) but I appreciated that after digging up the entire backyard Duncan's "rough graded" / leveled the ground, tossed seed and hay. I've had other companies do work that disturbed the earth (well and new water lines) and those others didn't seem to care if they drove away with a torn-up front yard containing a mound of dirt! I have no idea if Duncan's does this for all jobs or only whole yard disturbances.

Had a septic system issue where one of the dry wells was clogged. I was quoted a price of $650 to replace the line. the Duncan crew came out and began their work as discussed. They used a backhoe to dig into the soil and remove the old piping and replaced it with a new PVC one. Everything was fine up until this point. I watched the crew take the piping material and toss it back on top of the new line and bury it instead of hauling it away. They then seeded the ground as expected, but then dropped a bale of hay in the middle of the yard and left it there. I assume I have to disperse the hay myself?. I was also told that I needed topsoil/dirt to fill in the track marks from their tractor. They said they could provide the dirt, but it will cost extra. In fact they said "at this price, we would have to charge you for the dirt". If i would have known that the estimate they provided did not include cleaning up I would have gone elsewhere. I now have two large track marks in the lawn.
