Zankou Chicken

Disregard those bs negative reviews and give this place a shot!! Been coming here ever since I moved to Pasadena a few years ago, and I come back every few weeks. This food is delicious and service is friendly. You will love it!!

The food here is really good. If you are trying to be healthy there are several options that will accommodate you.

I eat at this restaurant at least 5 times a week. I live and work within walking distance of it. I've ordered everything on their menu at least once and everything is always fresh and delicious. What bothers me is the evening cashiers. They often are so involved in conversations with each other and with young male customers that they don't take my order right away. I've gotten used to this and will always talk over their conversations and order my food. The order is always taken correctly but they just don't get it. I've had a few mean glances from the male patrons trying to flirt with these attractive cashiers but I'm a big guy and stare them down right back. I've talked to the manager and it just keeps happening. So for best service go during lunch or early evening. Those cashiers are a little older and more mature and know how to treat their customers well.

We take out food from here about once a month. The whole chicken with pita and all the sides (a la carte) is about $24. This usually feeds my family of four for two nights. Food is good, although as another reviewer notes, service could be friendlier.

I've eaten here since 1989 and absolutely love it. The chicken tarna plate is to die for - my mouth waters just thinking about it.
