I gained a vast amount of knowledge from the school. Land Development and the Commercial units I liked since I'm a civil engineer, but the other units were also exciting. I learned to find wholesale properties and multiply my wealth from the Tax Sale unit; I learned the nuts and bolts of writing a contract from the Contract Engineering unit.

Pros: Office building instead of weekend at motel, library with computers for off hours learning, mostly friendly staff and excellent information on contracts.

Cons: Will sell you your own dream, slanted towards those who can spend big and politely snobbish towards students with less money, promises of 'Earn while you learn' or 'Success Guaranteed' and offer to back you with their own money are unreal, no learning appears designed to allow you to grow independent of their organization, much of the information they teach can be found online.

"I joined in October or November of 2014, excited as anyone of the dream of developing into a different way of life than working towards each paycheck. At our first meeting, the president, Ian, assured me that his observation of my confidence and attitude towards working hard would easily translate into a future of real estate investing. I told him I would have to stop working to pursue learning investing and would rely on the 'Earn while you learn' promise to pay bills, including the tuition for the school. He assured me that there would be no problem.

The classes were good, often leaving me feeling like I've come out of church, surrounded by like minds pursuing the same goal. In class, determined to be successful, I learned quickly, asked questions often and applied lessons learned once home towards that first success that would lead to others. In prospecting for owners who wanted to sell, I tried every technique, reviewed my success and emailed Ian often to tweak toward my progression. I even found a motivated seller on Craig's List with a property worth a quarter million. One month in, even knowing I would split the profit at 50% (which was their way) would still yield enough to save my car note, my residence and my storage locker. They were slow to react on this but in class I quickly became viewed as the one who would do this.

I was so strong in class, that the elder Mr. Parrish offered me the opportunity to become his apprentice. I had butterflies the morning he set for me to meet with him. On our meeting he shared with me the success' others have had when they took on the apprenticeship offer he was willing to share with me. That he would give them one of his leads for them to pursue. Then he told me that this apprenticeship would cost only ten thousand dollars. An uncomfortable position for me, considering everyone there knew of my economic situation, considering I emailed Ian often on everything, including my financial status. When I told him I did not have that kind of money, him simply stopped talking.

I lost my apartment, then my car, went on food stamps and continued school online until they denied my access. How much would it cost them to allow me to continue? I was never going to quit. Guess it was my loss for believing. I did learn a great lesson in that one.

Devastated, I sought out the information online from other sources. Discovered many, like Master Investor Academy, that presents the same strategy without the limited information to control your growth and split your income. I liked the school and the people, but guess they had to disconnect me, as I would learn the truth at some point"

I had owned rental properties for over 25 years prior to taking the Landlording & Property Management course at Investors United. I thought I knew the business pretty well, and actually wondered if I could benefit from it. After taking this course I can tell you it was worth every penny even for a veteran landlord like myself. While I’ve had a good experience with my rentals over the years, I’ve learned that my experience is fairly unique after meeting hundreds of frustrated landlords as a buyer of distressed property. This course will make sure you never become a frustrated landlord. It will save you many, many times more than the cost of tuition, let alone the stress and frustration caused by not knowing how to handle the situations that inevitably happen when you are a landlord. I am a graduate of Investors United and I am excited to say that I have made plenty of money because of the education that I have received. I want to share a story so you understand the individuals that you are dealing with. I called Ian Parrish about 4 months ago and asked for his assistance with a rehab deal. Instantly, he began helping me and providing me with all the details necessary to complete the deal properly. The interesting thing is that he asked at the end of the conversation, "How did you hear about me?" This question demonstrated to me that without knowing that I was an alumnus of the school, he was willing to help. At age 24 I promised myself that I would be retired by age 40. Little did I know what that entailed. I was nearing early retirement age according to the usual timetables that many "regular" people follow, and I was a bit frustrated with my progress. I was looking to replace my current income so that I could retire on my terms.



I have been "dabbling" in real estate investment for about 10 years now. I have one rental property that I inherited, and am familiar with some of the ups and downs there. I wanted to gain more knowledge to better manage that part of my financial portfolio. When first I arrived at class, my immediate goal was to create cash flow with rental properties.



I took a real estate (for agents) class about five years ago and passed both the state and the legal exam. I have also taken a seminar on tax liens. I have read through about half of the Carleton Sheets course. And my passion is looking at homes. I go to new developments and open house events whenever I have time. My parents are landlords and recently, I began thinking seriously about putting in the time to make real estate my next career. Friends who are appraisers and tax consultants suggested that I invest in Baltimore.



As I began looking at properties in this city I became aware that there was much more to understand about the legal and financial work needed to make this a successful career. I kept wondering how I was going to get everything in order to manage this project properly. Friends suggested also that I take investment seminars. As I began to investigate the various courses available, I thought that it would be smart to take classes from professionals who knew the area. I had learned that real estate is a very local market and that is what brought me out to Investors United’s introductory class. I now realize that there are several more ways to make money as an investor than I had previously been aware, and Investors United teaches them all.
