Post Office

This post office is charging a woman postage to pick up a package. I, the seller, already paid the postage. They are taking advantage of an immigrant. This is a criminal offense.

I'm new to the area and was told I had to go to the annex to pay for a post box on my street to get mail! This was a first for me, but I went on the Tuesday before New Years Day, paid $20 for a post box almost right in front of my house, and was told the postman would remove the lock that was on the box and allow me to put my new lock they sold me in its place. Only then would I be able to have the mail that had accumulated over the last week. The postman did not remove the old lock on Tuesday or Thursday, so I went in to the Annex on Thursday, quite panicky since my mail they were holding had my paycheck in it! I was told he 'might remove the lock Friday or Saturday.' He did remove the old lock Friday so when I got home from work I immediately tried to put in the new lock, but the latch from the old lock (which they tell you to use) did not fit the lock they had sold me at the annex, so frantic to get my check, I wrote a note to the postman on Saturday, telling him the latch he left did not fit the new lock, and that he was holding mail that I desperately needed. I said I would be home all day and to PLEASE knock on my door so I could either get a better latch, or preferably, get my mail! He completely ignored my note, and so Monday I will have to drive to Los Angeles for work with no money for gas. I have called the annex approximately 30 times over the last wsek, and no one has ever answered the phone. Welcome to Palmdale! I have never seen such complete disregard for standard customer service.

This place needs to be shut down. I couldn't believe how rude the women was to myself and other customers. Considering it is privately owned, it's still represents a federal agency. You might as well spit on the flag if you allow people like this to run a post office. I was sending a box to my husband who is deployed but I couldn't tolerate the lack of customer service so I garbed my box and walked out! the lady acted like i was wasting her time. I sent my package from the east side palmdale post office. Considering I live not far from the west side one, I will never go there again. I would rather wait in line all the way down on the other side of town.
