Lots of great food choices and you get a LOT for the money. Make sure you bring a check or cash, because they do not take credit cards. The service is always great. The wait to get a seat is often very long, but they do very well with getting people in and out quickly, even when they have hundreds waiting for a table. I definitely recommend this place!

Great food and fun atmosphere

As others said, make sure you come here hungry because you will be stuffed! They have great home cooking meals, from chicken fried steak to gizards to burgers and hog jowl. Something for everyone, and huge portions! You can even get seconds if you want, you just can't take it to go.

The roast beef is by far my favorite, tender, big pieces of roast, smothered in yummy gravy. And I always get a double helping of creamy mashed potatoes, and french fries, which have that light, crispy texture you want. I've had burgers, steak, chicken fried steak, hog jowl, etc, and it's all delicious.

They even have options for vegetarians, including a huge salad that my veggetarian friend loved, and a veggie plate, where you just choose 4 side dishes.

The pass-arounds are great as well, with my favorites being the fried potatoes and fried okra. And of course, you can't miss the rolls whizzing across the dining rooms. Make sure you catch at least a couple, because they are one of the best parts of eating here.

If you have a decent group or are going on the weekend, make sure you get there well ahead of or after normal mealtimes, because they get packed! As someone else said, this is a can't miss experience, whether you're a tourist or live nearby.
