The Maintenance Division works under the Public Works Department of Overland Park, kans. The division is responsible for the maintenance of city property through the repairing of potholes, side walks, traffic signals, street lights and pavement. It also responds to street sweeping requests and cleans more than 1,700 lane miles of streets. The Maintenance Division cleans concrete structures that receive water from the curb and channel it into underground storm pipes and drainage ditches. It additionally inspects a percentage of the storm sewer pipe system. The division undertakes the maintenance of trees and landscaping. The Maintenance Division removes graffiti on public property related to gangs, racial and ethnic materials.
