        Great food, great service. I was very satisfied with everything. The staff were very polite and the food was delicious. Not too expensive. Will definitely go again.

        This place is tough to rate. ...

        This place is tough to rate. It started out very strong-- fresh, tasty food, nice serving sizes. excellent flavors. We used to dine between 2-3 times a month until it started sliding. We never knew what we'd find when they brought out what were once favorite dishes... they became inconsistent in flavors-- some were horribly salty, one time overly herbed so that it tasted like eating a pine tree. They stopped adding cheese or other herbs on top, like they gave up on their initial clean presentation.



        Service is always friendly, but there never seems any motivation for it to be good. They are very slow to come around for refills, or ask if you want a refill but fail to come back. Also have problem with them forgetting to bring items.



        Their desserts are typically good, but for some reason, their wait staff automatically brings the check... it's amazing how frequently they serve food, then just return once with the check. No refills; no inquiry into dessert. A few times we wanted dessert but when the check was brought, we just paid & left.



        It's sad, really as we've stopped going as frequently. Ottumwa could really use a place that steps it up... this place has potential!

        Great service, good food, american staffed, non present that speak poor english. A little more expensive than Second Street Cafe but nicer atmosphere and faster service. Clean, odor free restrooms & well stocked paper supplies within. No expensive inferior quality pies on this menu like experienced at Second Street Cafe.

        Not too crowded sunday afternoon. Good large chef salad. Fast friendly service. Great brownie fudge dessert. A little more expensive than 2nd Street Cafe but the chef salad is much bigger and Roe's has a more pleasant atmosphere. Much nicer, cleaner and odor free restrooms compared to 2nd Street Cafe. Every business should know that if the restrooms are not in good repair, paper products are not restocked, restrooms are not odor free and checked & cleaned & restocked hourly that you will lose repeat customers. 2nd Street Cafe should learn from this post. Also any business that obviously employs non-english speaking, undocumented workers should know that in this day & age american citizens will not patronize such traitors who sacrifice loyalty to american citizens for payroll & employee benefit savings & bottom line profits.

        Has anyone eaten at this restaurant. I hear it is very good but the prices are a little steep.

        Our prices are comparable to other places in town and our food is homemade. We now have a salad bar also made from scratch.Children can eat for the cost of fast food and it is fresh and Wednesday it is free with each adult meal. Give us a try
