Rude and unprofessional! An embarrassment to the profession! Coming from a professional practice of my own I can not conceive of how they manage to keep their doors open. Dear Friend, keep looking!

We have been attending here since 2009. Dr. Nielson is the most informed Pediatric Doctor we have ever met, and she has hired well as she's grown her practice. A lot of our friends do not like their pediatrician. We refer them ALL to Tree House Pediatrics. We've since left the Lake Nona Area but commute all the way from Oviedo because we are so pleased with the care our children receive. Dr. Nielson gets on the child's level and makes everything they do fun. She's properly referred us to specialists, all of which have been helpful. She doesn't rush in and out of the room. She takes time and ensures that the child is treated properly, and that we understand everything going on.

I read some of the negative comments, and I just HAD to post this. Oftentimes circumstances and situations occur that lead to bad, single experiences. Say what you want about the administrative experience (they've always been good to us, but who knows I guess). I'm yet to find a doctor's office with a stellar admin staff. As for care and doctor treatment, Dr. Nielson and Dr. Javier (the 2 we've seen here) are second to none.

My child has been going here for 3 years and they still haven't figured out what is wrong with him. Not sure if they care too either. We have seen 3 different doctors. We seem to be directed to Dr. javier more lately. She is VERY nice but has no clue about anything. I truly feel we, as parents, can diagnose our kids better then these doctors. If all you worry about is your cold/flu visits, this is the place for you. If there is ANYTHING more complicated, Good luck! Any test my child ever had, had to be specifically ordered by me, they never seem to know what to do. She even told my son to put duct tape on his warts. Of course they spread and now he has it on both feet. My son has been sick with constant nausea and vomiting for years and she just keeps telling me evrything is fine with him. Time to move on for us, don't waste your time like we did.

In the beginning everything wa...

In the beginning everything was fantastic, I really liked Dr. Nielson, she was bubbly, charismatic, and made me feel very comfortable. Unfortunately I am not sure if immaturity or stupidity got in the way. My best friend at the time went there was well, we all would talk to one another when we had appts, they would say if they saw my friends daughter recently etc. She knew what was going on in our lives because we felt comfortable talking to her not only about doctor type things regarding our children. Well I am not sure if after a dispute in mine and my friends relationship caused her vision as a professional to be skewed or what have you. When I had my 2nd baby she overlooked a major developmental delay with him, he has hypotonia, he couldn't open his index and middle finger on both hands, she preceeded to tell me that his first newborn visit his hands were not like that (saying anything to cover her own end basically because she knew she messed up). Which is a lie, I brought him in there like that from day one I have pictures of him not being able to open his hands the day he was born. When I finally made another appt to bring him in because I said there was an issue that was overlooked and as my pediatrician I insist her look again (which was when I heard nothing but excuses) she proceeded to tell me that it was probably a bone issue and that worst case scenario his hands would have to be amputated?????? And when I tried to talk to her of the things I read about on the web she actually had the audacity to say " Are you thinking about going to medical school? Because I am the doctor here"......It took all of me to compose myself with class infront of my children when I wanted to go off. We went to get an xray and his bone structure was fine. A couple days later my oldest son had been throwing up mucus in the mornings and then fine the rest of the day. When I brought him in she told us to sit down and that throwing up first thing in the morning in children could be a for sure sign that he could have a brain tumor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I lost it emotionally of course!!! So she ordered a CAT scan for the next day and blood work. Her nurses could not draw blood from my sons arm because they kept messing up, basically torturing him! I was holding both of his legs and one arm and they (2) could not handle one arm! She did not give me instructions for the CAT scan, he wasn't supposed to eat 4 hours before and they were going to give him an IV. I don't know about you but I prepare my children for what is going to happen so they are not surprised and create a scene bc they are scared. We had to sit there forever because we had to wait for 4 hours at least to pass because of the food thing, then my son freaked out about the IV. Long story short, his CAT scan came back perfect and all he had was a virus! So after the issue with my baby's hands (whom now is turning 3 in October, has hypotonia, a muscle weakness issue, and is doing phenomenal) and then that issue with my oldest son, where I had a huge bill because of the scan, I switched doctors, because either she is that extreme and slightly unexperienced in her field or she toys with her patients based on emotion, which is unprofessional. Thank God when my 2nd son was 1 month old, I left and found the best doctor ever for my now 3 children! He has 6 children, his wife is a nurse there and they are thorough, not extreme, and extremely respectful and professional! I guess finding him is the only positive thing I got out of my awful experiences with Dr. Annette Nielsen and her practice! Do yourself a favor and look else where. Very happy I did, wouldn't want anyone else going through what I did!

I'm surprised by the negative reviews saying Dr. Nielsen and her staff aren't attentive and are all about the money. We've been patients of Dr. Nielsen's for years now and have always felt like she's listened to us, has great concern for our children and a great bedside manner. My kids love her. She even does her exams on the floor with them while they're playing and they hardly even know they're having an exam. Sure, we've had to wait sometimes but that's pretty standard these days. Nothing longer than 20 minutes and that's happened maybe once in 3+ years and it's always with an explanation (an emergency, something unexpected, etc.) and an apology.

I have had issues with the front desk staff and have addressed them with the doctor and they were promptly handled.

I can't say enough about this practice and all the doctors there. Just really great women and really great doctors.

The doctors in this practice do support breastfeeding and Dr. Nielson caught a latching problem that a trained lactation consultant previously missed. Having a baby of her own, Dr. Nielson spoke to me as a Mom and as a pediatrician. She has a sweet nature which helped to set me at ease (which is important when you have a 10 day old crying inconsolably). We love Dr Javier, who is actually our baby's pediatrician, and were so happy that even though it was her day off we got such good care from Dr. Nielson.

I will never bring my child here again. It's all about the money here. The rude woman at the front with the really hairy arms has a very poor attitude as well.
