Joseph Kellner Hair Salon

I made an appointment with Josph Kellner salon because I needed a color specialist. I have my favorite stylist in Miami but have been traveling so much for work that I could not get to see her for another few weeks. I went red a few months ago and wanted to go to a honey blonde or light brown. I understood that it may be a process over a few appointments to get there. I made an appointment with Joseph Kellner Salon because he claims to be a specialist. It was the worst decision I ever made. He told me that my options were either dark brown (almost black) or stick with red. I told him that I understood we may not get the color I want today, but what would be the option to start the steps to eventually get where I wanted to go and it seemed that going so dark would make it harder to get there. He seemed insulted that I dare to make him repeat himself and said that he refused to do my hair. I have never met somone more unprofessional or arrogant in my life and I work in commercial advertising/photography... so you can imagine I meet a lot of divas.

(407) 248-8828 and was ready to be told the color I wanted was impossible to do in 1 day. It was such a refreshing relief to meet Shala and her team!
After meeting the rudest man in my life, their warm and welcoming staff made me feel at ease. I arrived basically in tears. Shala insisted that she could not only accept me as a walk in on a busy Saturday, but also that she could get my hair the color I wanted that same day! And she did!
I really couldn't believe that she was able to after what Joseph Kellner Salon told me. Also, the products she used did not dry or strip my hair as Joseph said would happen at his salon. I was at Shalas Salon for more than 4 hours which is somewhat expected when doing a major change. So my conclusion about Joesph Kellner is that he is either incompetent as a "color specialist" and should not proclaim himself to be one, or he did not want to do the work necessary to get the job done. Either way, I am writing this review so that other people know who they will be dealing with. I strongly suggest avoiding this rude and incompetent man. Try visiting Shala's Salon in Orlando. You will not be disappointed.

Joseph Kellner very unprofessional! He is a very arrogant, rude and ignorant person.



I just recently changed my profession and decided to do something with my hair. I looked up online and found Joseph Kellner, who claimed to be the best hair stylist and colorist in town. I called him three times, left him three voice messages before he returned my phone call. Trusting him my hair was the worst decision I ever made in my life!

First he showed up for our appointment with 50 min delay. He doesn’t care about somebody's schedule. My original color was very dark brown. I was bored with my hair, wanted put something refreshing to my hair. I asked him for some advice, but his decision, not advice was to put strong red in my hair on top of the highlights he made. He also put some glaze, letting me know this will wash out. He did not give me any other options. He insisted to change from dark brown to red. When I asked him about blond he rejected using his very ignorant demeaning manner repeating often: “be quiet, my friend!”



I asked him to trim my ends little bit, he cut my hair at least 15 inches shorter. I have a very fine hair. Joseph Kellner trimmed and thinned my forehead hair so now my hair is even thinner. His cut on both front sides on my face looks very thin. When I came out and saw myself in the mirror by daylight, I was shocked. My self esteem was down, I became very insecure, my mood was down.



I can cry when I see myself in the mirror. It took me almost three weeks to lose this ugly red, but my highlights look not better. Very irregular spots on my head in yellow disgusting color.



I called him to correct his mistakes. He showed up again with 30 minutes delay. His ignorance was over the top. He insisted to put more red and “take down the glaze”, I rejected. He could not fix my hair anymore. I expected my money back, but this never happened. He told me that I will receive my money back soon. Two weeks later I sent him friendly reminder by using his Facebook messenger, he responded that he will send me my money back ASAP. When I reminded him week later, he asked me for my address again. Again week passed by and my money has never been refunded.



After my third reminder he responded “Your payment will be sent ASAP, stop harassing me, I have reported you to Facebook” and blocked me.



Joseph Kellner is not only very unprofessional in all counts but also a scruples liar.

I grew up in Orlando, so I can tell you first-hand that finding a great hairstylist is like looking through a haystack trying to find a needle. By the time I found Joseph, my hair was over-processed, orange, and completely damaged and dull looking. He managed to turn it all around. I am half Moroccan, half American, and my hair is thin but a lot of it, frizzy with no defined curls. He knows how to work with my hair! No stylist can tame my hair like he can. i receive compliments daily about how healthy my hair looks, and how beautiful the color is. Joseph has a gift. He is able to look at you and determine which color will match your complexion, all while working with you to design your hair around the style you want as well. He is also HONEST. He will tell you the truth about the state of your hair, such as if it is too damaged to have anything completed at once. He doesn't waste your time or your money. If you read any negative reviews, that is exactly where those are stemming from. We are so accustomed to walking into a salon and receiving service no matter the condition of our hair. And then we wonder why our hair is in a mess in the first place. Go to him. This man is a hair GURU. Im thankful to say i have finally found a hair stylist i can stick with. 2 years of doing my hair now!

Joseph has been coloring my hair for over 5 years. He's by far the best hair colorist I've ever used. Before him, I tried numerous stylists. All of them either bleached my hair or fried it. With Joseph, he not only makes my hair color look natural, he's careful to keep it healthy. He's been doing this for decades so I trust him wholeheartedly with my hair. And he's always continuing his education to keep up with the trends. I'd recommend him to anyone who wants their hair to look the best it ever has.
