General Info: Dr. Fernando Ovalle, MDBorn in Monterrey, Mexico and raised in the Southeastern United States, Dr. Fernando Ovalle Jr. possessed a passion for science and medicine as well as art and literature from a young age. This led him to pursue a double major in Biochemistry and English while attending Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with Phi Beta Kappa honors.Dr. Ovalle continued his education in medical school at the prestigious Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee as a Dean's Merit Scholarship recipient. Here his commitment to academic excellence led him to complete an additional year-long research fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.
