Overall

Worst place on the face of this planet. The reviewer from 2008 was absolutely correct. This vet was very dry, did not make us comfortable, was impersonal and barely laid a hand on my dog. My husband and I brought our elderly pet to this clinic after waking to find blood everywhere in our house. She had a cut on her ear that would not stop bleeding. I arrived to this "emergency" hospital, covered in blood and was taken in right away. That's about the only thing they got right. Then, as my dog lay bleeding out on the floor of their exam room, the vet tech thought it would be more important to get us to fill out paper work rather than tend to our profusely bleeding dog. After the paper work was filled out he went back to "enter it into their system" and told us the vet would be in shortly. After at least a 30 minute wait the vet came in (all the while my dog continued to bleed and they didn't even offer up some gauze for me to hold pressure on the wound) and said she would have to run blood work, but not before collecting $403 for their "services". They took our dog back and 10 minutes later came in and said there was nothing they could do, our dog had lost too much blood. They put a bandage on her head and we took her home. Later that night we had to put our baby to sleep feeling horrible for taking her to a vet, wasting our time, money and energy on a place that couldn't have shown less compassion for a dying animal. Shame on this lousy facility and their exam rooms with 42" flat screen TV's. I guess I see why they charge so much for nothing. I should note, we asked what we paid $403 for and we were granted a $128 refund. So we paid nearly $300 for a bandaid. Do NOT, under any circumstances, take any pet to this place unless you enjoy being ripped off and dealing with people who just don't care. I would give 0 stars as a rating, but it doesn't allow for that.

This is specialty emergency!!

I had been at another emergency clinic, waited several hours and my pup was given an injection for vomiting and sent home. My pup was still no better on Sunday so we found the Animal Emergency Center right off the 408 and were placed in a room immediately. We saw the technician first and then the veterinarian. The vet told us all our options and we chose the one that worked best for us. We had digital x-rays that were read out by a specialist . They even had a digital endoscope if there was a toy in our pup's stomach. Lucky for our pup no blockage and he just needed to be rehydrated. By Monday morning he ran to meet us and was his old self. The most amazing thing is the relief of knowing that if it was more serious they could have taken care of anything! We were given all the information and even looked it up on-line at home (being somewhat worried after the first e-clinic), everything they were doing and suggested was top of the line. We definetly recommend the Animal Emergency Center and tell all our friends to go there!

Great Facility!

The staff at The Animal Emergency Center are great. Both doctors are very knowledgable and the owner has over 15 years experience in just emergency medicine. The technicians and the doctors all share a great passion for treating your animal in an emergency situation. Highly recommended!! You won't find a better clinic in Orlando!!

Overall
She doesnt love animals

Took my dog to the animal emergency center at 9pm 9/23/08 and was obviously worried about him to take him in. The nurse greated us at the door. The nurse talked to my daughter over the phone and asked questions than we waited for about 20 minutes for the doctor and we were the only ones there. Holly Brown came very dry, inpersonal if she was there for 5 minutes it was alot. Went back out and never came to to tell us the diagnose of the dog. She did not make us feel comfortable, she didn't try to reassure is absolute tell us don't worry we will figure it out, didn't even come back in to tell us what they found. I would NOT go back to her. Don't feel that she would give my dog compassion for what he is going through at that moment. Her nurse was more a doctor tha her. Dry it is hard to image she became a vet for love of animals because there was no love there. Her nurse was more informative and caring than she was. She didn't come back in to see is we hand any questions nor when she came in did she tell us who she was.

9/30/08 - my dog is sick with the same thing...

Unfortunately the reviewer above was never at our clinic, she sent her daughter. We attempted to perform testing and treat her pet but she refused to allow any diagnostics or treatment. This is very difficult for myself and my staff when very sick animals need treatment and care and the owner refuses to allow it. By law we must have signed consent of the owner to perform tests or treatment on their pet. We were not given permission since the owner was not present and the daughter would not sign consent. We attempt to see anyone who arrives at our clinic within one hour of arrival. The 20 minutes they waited was made up of paperwork, vitals, and computer input of the information. We love animals and attempt to treat all those in emergency situations, unfortunately we must have the permission to treat.
