American Auto Glass Repair

I recently had my car window broken into and needed a new passenger side window put into my car. I called around all my local window repair shops and I read good reviews about American Glass. I am writing on here today to ADVISE OTHERWISE. When I called I spoke to a gentleman on the phone who was very nice and gave me a price for $179 out the door with tax, a full warranty & clean up. He also said he could come the next day. I made the appointment and the following morning bright & early the window guy was at my door. He didn't have on any ID or a Work Truck - but he had my info and the right glass. I sat in my front window and watched him work while I had my coffee. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing and at the time I was very pleased.



When he finished up and it was time to pay - I was told from the company that we could pay with credit card. Well - he didn't have anything on him for that. My only other option was cash - which would have been fine - up until the time when he said that would be $190. I explained that the man on the phone quoted me at 179. He then continued on to say he, “doesn't have change - how much do I have on me?” This made me uneasy. Luckily - I had $180 in cash - but this is not how I handle business and I felt very uncomfortable giving cash. I asked about my warranty and my receipt and he said "uhh I have that at the office" - he took my email and said he would send it to me once he returned back.



I never received this information.



Since then- myself and my daughter have called the company NUMEROUS times asking for a receipt and proof of warranty and we have been only given the run around. Anytime we ask for a manger or the owner – he is not there. I have been told at least 10 times that I would get a call back which I never do. I was told they would email me two separate times – no email.



This business is not ran how it should be especially in an area like Orland Park. I highly suggest going elsewhere.
