Erik Johnson Tile

Erik Johnson Tile redid my pool and spa with glass tile at the waterline. I was working with a pool contractor who hired Erik Johnson Tile for this part of the remodel.



The top row of tiles started popping off soon after the remodel. I researched this problem and discovered there needs to be a joint betweent the tile and the deck. Decks are designed to move and proper tile installation either has a sawed joint or one that's sawed and sealed. The charge for the joint and sealer is $5. a running foot. Originally this was not installed because the pool contractor, Natural Pools, did not include it in his bid so it would be lower than his competitors.



Once I discovered this was the problem, Erik Johnson Tile added the joint at the customary cost and replaced the all the tiles that were loose or had fallen off at no cost.



Now my pool looks beautiful and the workmanship Erik Johnson Tile did was excellent. Communication between them and myself was also very good. I will finally be able to enjoy my pool without bald tile patches.

They charged a lot and did not live up to there word. Asked them at the time what happens if these tile pieces start popping off? The tiler said he would come back and repair them at no additional cost, but assured me that these will never come off. After they started coming off like domino's and I called them they wanted 120.00 minimum. Said we don't guarantee repair work.

Tile looked great when complete, but later the tile all fell off. They were not responsive. Said Erik would be out for several weeks so I left a message. He never returned my calls.
