Performance Plating

I took 8 pieces to this company a few years ago. They talked a good talk. They assured me that when they got through that my parts would look better than they did when they were new. They gave me a price for chroming the 8 pieces and told me they would have them ready in a couple of weeks, three weeks tops. They said they would give me a call and let me know when to pick the parts up. I called them several times starting after the forth week. Over the next three and a half months (keep in mind here the three week maximum deal had vanished) I called them again and they said the parts were ready to pick up. I live over 200 miles from where they are located. I made the trip to the Kansas City area to pick up my parts. The first thing that came up when I got there was almost a two hundred dollar price increase from their original quote. Not good. The next thing they did was show me the parts. The quality was terrible. There were bumps and pits in the chrome an over all a very sloppy nasty mess. Nothing like they told me they would look like. I was not happy and told them they did a terrible job and I was not willing to pay the extra two hundred dollars for the terrible job they did on my pieces. A younger guy ( i think the son) that was working the pickup counter said well if you don't pay our price we will just put your parts on e-bay and get our money that way. What a rip off!! This is no way to run a business!!! I paid there insane price just to get my parts back. because they were had parts to find. Since that time the chrome has started pealing bubbling up terribly on most of the pieces and I had to find other parts to replace them and have them chromed at another place. Do yourself a favor and don't deal with this rip off outfit. They talk show quality but what you will get is a terrible mess. Oh and if you folks at this out fit remember me my name is Charlie!!!! Ring a Bell does it!!!!?

These guys avertise show quailty chrome plating. They don't have a clue what show quailty chrome is.



What does “show quality” mean?



Show quality means that the part has been triple chromed and is flawless. There are no pits, grind marks, or any type of defect for that matter on the face of the part.



When confronted about the defects the owner told me that I was to picky and he refused to fix the problem.
