SSM Health St. Anthony Healthplex

I had a fever, my blood pressure was up. I never have problems with my blood pressure. Fever indicates infection somewhere, abnormal blood pressure explains the pain I was enduring. The doctor told me to my face he couldn't give me any pain narcotics because some people walk into the er acting like they have a tooth problem but their really addicted. They use tooth pain as an excuse. The first thing that came to my mind that he was assuming from the way I looked that i might be addicted. I wasn't looking my best cause I jumped up out of bed, heck I even told the nurse I
was in pain after I tried ice and anbesol in my face, these medical employees rubbed me the wrong way. I went here because I wanted to make sure I do not have an infection, man forget the pain medicine and yes I'm in crazy pain but I wanted to know why I'm whole face was hurting like that. I know for myself I'm not experiencing pain from my tooth and gums all the way up to my nose and eye for no reason. He did push down on my tooth and he gave me a numbing shot, he claimed it wasn't bad. Yes that hurt like crazy. How can you clarify a patient's pain level? You can't..... He didn't even suggest an x-ray. Listen.....I told these people what all I was experiencing no one even suggested a x-ray......I know better now. I have numerous of RNs in my family. I told them about it. They even said they wouldn't want to work here because of this incident. Sorry but not sorry because I've experienced a number of prejudging, discrimination, racism and un-justice since neigh high. I know when I see pre-judgement. He sent me out with 4 days worth of pain meds. Thank you for that. BTW I start work next week, I don't have insurance, I know I need to go get my tooth extracted...... I've been calling dentist offices but in the mean time......I still deserve to know what's going on with my jaw. I'll have to find another er that will x-ray to see wats going on. Hopefully they'll get better service over there. Good Luck!
