Gynecology
LARC (Long Acting Reversible Contraception): Intrauterine devices and implantable contraceptive. The American College of OB-GYN recommends long acting reversible contraception as a first line contraceptive for most women including adolescents. These devices can usually be placed at a short visit in our office.
Obstetrics
The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists now recommend that a young woman’s first visit to the gynecologist take place between ages of 13 years and 15 years. We understand that a teen’s first visit to a gynecologist can make both the teen and her parents feel nervous, embarrassed, or even a little frightened.
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is when the lining of the uterus is found growing in the pelvis or abdomen. It typically causes pain with cycles and may also cause pain at other times. The diagnosis can only be made with surgery.

Ultrasound

Minimally Invasive Surgery
Procedures that typically require a period of observation are completed at the hospital. These include those procedures for hysterectomy and removal of fibroids. At Center for Women’s Health, we are pleased to offer the latest advances for minimally invasive surgery for our patients. This allows less recovery time, less pain, and a quicker return to normal activities.
Vasectomy
Male sterilization includes a Vasectomy. Vasectomy is generally thought to be safer than female sterilization as it is done with local anesthesia. It is important to remember that sterilization is not meant to be reversible.
Robotic Surgery
Hysterectomy
Da Vinci Robotic Hysterectomy involves removal of the uterus with or without tubes and ovaries using the laparoscope and Da Vinci robot. In most cases, patients are discharged within 24 hours of the procedure.
Endometrial Ablation
Endometrial ablation: A procedure to destroy the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) with the goal of reducing the amount of bleeding during menses.
Laparoscopy
Diagnostic laparoscopy is used to evaluate the pelvis for any abnormalities. If abnormalities are found they are usually treated at that time.
