So At the Beach has had over 430 complaints with the Better Business Bureau! With a rating of a D-.....what a scam

This is email is being sent as an official complaint against the 31st and Garnett location in Tulsa, OK. This is my second complaint. I know, you and the owner of the company don't care about service, just collecting money. It's ashame that a company of that makes this kind of profit (

Est. Annual Sales:$10,327,268) can't have better customer service and take pride in what they claim to offer patrons.





This particular location is to open at 8am on weekends. It did not open until 8:45 this morning. As I indicated before, this is not acceptable. I will continue to file these complaints each time I go and the facility is not open in a timely manner. Also, this time I am reporting both incidents to the Better Business Bureau.



I have been told that I cannot speak to the owner of the business as he does not talk with customers. This would appear to be an unwise move by most businesses. I guess it works for ATB. Maybe the BBB can speak with the owner, Hoyl Belt.



I am guilty of not researching this business prior to signing a 3 year contract. At this point I am willing to pay a contract cancellation fee to get out from under. Giving me a $20 credit on my account is useless is the facility doesn't open timely for me to utilize it.



Totally disappointed in ATB,

This place tries to sell you contract memberships in which you cannot get out of, even if you are pregnant. They use high pressure sales techniques to get you to sign up for their term memberships and monthly memberships. I was tricked into signing up for a 2 year membership. I went in and told the guy that i just wanted to tan a few times and he said "well, why pay $16 each time you come in when you can pay $32 and tan for the whole month!" so ofcourse that sounded like a better deal, but i didn't realize that it was going to be charged to me every month for the next two years. They took advantage of me and i should have been smarter about the whole thing, but I just wanted to warn people about it. I never would have known that the people working there are salesmen and women. Also, most of the staff is pretty rude, maybe not this location but definately at the MWC and Moore location. So just be aware of what you are getting yourself into or go to a location that doesn't do memberships.
