Established in 1967, Prevention First is a nonprofit agency that serves the children and families of Monmouth County, N.J. It provides educational programs and services to schools, businesses and community organizations to counter the negative effects of substance abuse and violence. Prevention First offers programs related to drug education, anger management, bullying, conflict resolution, Internet safety, life skills training and media literacy. Its research-based preventative educational programs teach decision making skills to parents, teachers and community leaders with the NJ State New Jersey Department of Education. The agency organizes various events, such as chess fests, golf outings and galas. Prevention First is located in Ocean, N.J.
